Since I'm The First One Who Felt Like It I'll Start The MMP

Deliveros Movieum!

Thanks to Amazon, I’m sure UPS is clogged up with a billion or so little boxes, each containing the latest Harry Potter installment. The tracking says I’m supposed to be getting three small boxes today - I took advantage of a sale and updated the rest of my HP library to Blu-Ray at $9.99 each. You’d think they’d be able to have the movies all in roughly the same part of the warehouse so they could ship in one box?

TP? Oh crap… Thanks for reminding me!

I managed to sneak out without being seen by any admirals, so that’s good. One of the guys in my group showed up in a grey 3-piece suit - a very expensive one to hear him tell. But his top shirt button was unfastened, his tie was askew, and it looked like he slept in his suit. Plus he has long, unkempt hair, and his shoes looked kinda ratty (which is saying a lot since I don’t usually notice shoes.) He’ll make some impression.

We had a meeting about the upcoming RIF - that is the RIF we’ll have if it gets funded. Considering the state of the budget - who knows? But if there’s no money for RIF, there will be no money for retirement incentive, which means I won’t be retiring. So we stand by to stand by and we shall see…

**FCD **is napping. Daughter hasn’t come home yet, but I’m assuming it’s because she’s got to do a water change in her aquariums and bring home the frog and lizard. I may just have dinner without her and let her deal with leftovers. I’m just doing sketties, so it’s not a big deal.

Four days of bossdom down, 5 to go. I do not enjoy it. But we came up with a team memo: “Beats a sharp stick in the eye!” Yeah, we have great attitudes.

That’s all for now. Maybe I’ll post more later. Maybe not. Incidentally, I vote for CatDude as the official nickname, like rosie, I did the *nananananananannaananaCATMAN *in my head first.

The winner of the most <snerk> snerkworthy <snerk> post of the week contest is… gotti!!!

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and fed even. I did burgers on the grill again. I know, two times in one week but I had me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for a home grilled burger. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, off to do Evening Prayer with Prayer Beads at the church house. I kinda don’t wanna go but I did say I’d be there, so I shall go. Call it Lenten Discipline. Yeah, Lenten Discipline cause that sounds all mature and growed up like me.

Pasta has been ingested. I’ve got a basket of whites to be folded. Off to fold…

Home from Prayer Bead doin’s. ‘Twas a nice service. It’s beginnin’ to look a little stormy like out. Come on Tstorms!

That is all.

I am highly impressed by your grown-uppedness, swampy. Go, prayer bead, doin’s!

Hope you get back to a reasonable amount of sleep soon, LiLi. It’s exhausting just to read how interrupted your sleep has been.

Yay for surviving being the boss, FCM!

I had a really tiring week, but actually got a lot done. Very happy it’s Firday!!!

It’s supposed to be rainy tomorrow, so I think I’ll be doing indoor stuff and planning outdoorsy stuff.

Dude!!! It’s CatDude. I’ll miss the MBG handle, but the cat one fits really well.

Tonight: More SNL, Season 1, and knitting. Living wildly!!!

Hugs.

Oh goodie! Scruffy woke me early again. I was sound asleep and comfy, with the bonus of having put fresh sheets on last night. Could I enjoy it? Of course not. Stoopit dog. So I’m up.

I don’t know how late daughter was up, but she was doing her laundry, tidying her apt, and getting packed for her trip today. She’s leaving around 11 for BWI - her flight is at 4. I need to remind her about the 3 oz. rule unless she’s checking her stuff…

FCD’s back has been lots better since he’s been taking the steroids. I’ve threatened him about doing anything and he may be listening this time. He really doesn’t want his back hacked open again.

Yesterday he got a statement from his company about his compensation last year. It was broken down by paid hours, vacation time, sick time, and all the company paid bennies. I didn’t realize they covered the premiums for short and long term disability, as well as for a small life insurance policy. Not too many places do stuff like that any more, do they?

I think today is sail cover day. I need to make a new sail cover for our boat - the fabric I used last time wasn’t suitable for outdoor use and it pretty much deteriorated. We’ve got the right stuff now and there’s enough of the old one left to be a pattern. I just need a long enough surface to lay it out. If I get it cut out, I will be happy.

Caffeination has commenced. Onward to the day!! Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a balmy 71 Amurrkin out. The “storms” well, that’s been a big bust so far. One five minute rain a little while ago is it. However, we are under a tornado watch until 9 a.m. so it may yet. I want a big ol’ storm dangit!

I plan on today bein’ pretty much a do nuttin’ kinda day. I don’t need to do laundry and da cave is fairly clean. OYKW is still snoozed out. Soon I shall have to do sump’n about brekkie cause rumbly tummy is gettin’ right demandin’ to be fed. Maybe I’ll make ham ‘n cheese omelettes bein’ as I need to use up a couple of slices of country ham I bought last week. That should wake him up!

Slightly better night for me, at least. Mr. Lissar slept with Gnat. Mr. Lissar’s getting a little extra sleep and I’m eating the kids for breakf- wait, feeding the kids breakfast. Right.
Rainy and dark here today. Stay indoors, do housework, hang around. I might ask for an hour away to buy some Easter stuff and a new pair of jeans. Two of my three pairs just grew holes.

Still a bit sleepy, LiLi?

Sounds like FCD has a really good employer, FCM.

Slowly and cautiously approaching the morning…

Not sure what I’m doing today yet…

Hugs in any case.

I’m showered and dressed - what a difference that makes! It’s just started raining - rah. We’re going to leave about the same time daughter does to run to Lowe’s and WalMart and get some lunch - I’m in a Red Robin mood. She’s all clogged up - probably allergy related, so she’s not looking forward to this flight. She’s young - she’ll get over it…

We’ll see how motivated I am today. I just feel like being a slug.

Up and caffeinating. I’ve been to the dump and the Post Orifice already, and sent away my NC taxen. I mailed them because I owe, and I won’t have the $$$$ for them until I get my VA and FedGuv refunds.

Time for a nap (?)…

I’m up and enjoying a cup or two of coffee before I have to start my running around for the day.

It’s cool and wet. Temps dropped into the mid thirties last night and the high is supposed be 50 degrees. It’s supposed be like this all week. I wish spring would just freakin’ get here.

My daughter, her boyfriend and friend of theirs are coming down to use our garage so they can work on her brakes. I’m leery of them driving that distance on those brakes, but on the other hand, with the weather the way it is, I can hardly blame them for wanting to use our garage. My daughter assures me they’ll be careful bringing the car down. I hope they get an early start so they don’t have to contend with so much traffic.

We loaded up the rental trailer yesterday and we need to get to the dump this morning so we can return the trailer by 11:15ish our time. After that, Mr. Taters wants to go to Sears and buy a rear bagging push mower. Since we have such a postage stamp lot, we really don’t need a lot, and we really don’t want to spend a lot of money right now, especially since we don’t have much of it at the moment.

Thursday afternoon, we have to drive nearly six hours to get to Pullman on the other side of the state. We’re going to visit the school my son has been accepted into. What a pain in the ass finding a hotel over there! Everything in town was booked up, so we had to book a room 14 miles from the town. Wait, let me amend that, I did find one room in town, but hubby didn’t want to pay $130.00 bucks for it. Regardless, it’s going to be a long-assed two days. We’ll leave Thursday afternoon, and plan to come back Friday evening.

I’ve asked my daughter to dog/housesit and I’m hoping she will. Otherwise, I don’t know what we’re going to do about the dogs.

Well, I’m nearly done with my first cup of alertness, so I need to get the second one down and get started with my day.

It’s a fabulously glorious day! Sixty degrees and very little humidity. Dog park, here we come.

Brekkies have been et. I swear, these boys are so lazy! I leave a bowl of fruit on the counter all week and they don’t eat it. If I cut it up and make a fruit salad, they gobble it up like starving children! So we had fruit, scambled eggs and sausage.

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

Brekkie et and I’ve been over to the horsepistol to check on a co-parishoner/co-vestry member. He had a heart attack on Thursday. He didn’t know he’d had one. Said he just felt dizzy and weak. His wife called 911 and sho’ ‘nuff a heart attack. He had a blocked artery so he got an angioplasty (is that right?) and feels good now. He’ll go home Monday. I did not know about this until I read an email from YP yesterday afternoon. Anywho, he looks like himself and like I said feels really good and not even complainin’ about havin’ to wait until Monday to be discharged.

Rebo on the counter it’s just a bowl of stuff, but all cut up into a fruit sallit it becomes a nummy food substance.

Hi everyone! I have had an insane couple of travel/work/chaos weeks and have been absent totally from anything non-work related. Including here. Sorry  How you all been?

I did read the thread this AM so in no particular order – Yay on retirement fcm, taxi good luck with the hireing of the backfill and new washer search, doggio thoughts & prayers, taters yay interview dangit on no job offer, purpleshoe interesting weekend, southpaw wow welldone, lili praying for sleep for ya, bobbio congrats on the biking to work thing, rebo glad dad’s surgery went well, boofae yay for passports etc

Today is officially declared as ‘ass on couch day’. I have headed to shower and go get my haircut then I am doing nothing for the rest of the after the crazy travel couple of weeks and I have to head to Tulsa again tomorrow I am doing Nothing. Nada. Nuttin. Zip. Zero. etc

Happy Weekend!

I think you’ve completely earned the sitting around, mmmmmmm.

I went out to North Market and wandered around, got a couple of pretzel twists and a croissant with raspberry jam. And coffee. Then I wandered around a bit more before coming home.

It occurred to me that I should go out and take some pictures because the magnolias are peaking and there are some really nice ornamental trees in full bloom that will probably be bare after the storms that are coming through today. Wish I’d taken my camera to the market because when I came out, you could really clearly see the front coming into town. There were some clearly-defined layers of clouds, going from light gray to very dark and just in front of them it was sunny and clear. Hard to describe, but very cool.

New astronaut on the space station starting to take pictures. Yay!

Off to decide what to do with the day.

Hugs.

Back from lunch and erranding. I got six 6-packs of petunias and two 6-packs of dianthus, plus 7 'mater cages (I already had one) and a miracle grow hose feeder attachment thingie. And I got to use my $10 off coupon, so yay for saving $10.

**FCD **is napping. I expect a call from daughter any time from the airport. I’ve got a load of jeans in the washer, and later I’ll sit downstairs as I do more laundry and keep company with Cozmo - poor pup is lonely. For now, I think a little Netflix is in order…

Got coffee, had brefest, and shall spend some time surfing teh internets before a quick grocery trip for the weekend’s dinners.

Later tonight going to see some friend’s band play at a Moose hall. Good music, cheap beer…

Gotta decide on dindin for tonight. Swipe General Tso’s dindin? Request Papa John’s to prepare dindin? Go for not to awful Chinese? Make sammiches?

Why, oh why, must life demand we make such hard decisions!
