When I worked at the Library in Little Rock, while the sirens were going off and everyone was sensibly in the Library basement, another moronic cow-orker went with me to the roof to view a tornado close up.
Welcome to the club.
Moooom!!! flytrap is being bad on my fb page!!!
Moi?
I was under my roof, up against the wall, staying dry (well except for some blowing mist). There are also trees a few feet away that are higher than the roof. I was in a safe place.
sigh My bad. flytrap is the model of decorum*, it is my comprehension skills that are lacking tonight**.
- or is that modicum? ;):D:p
** I think I need some medicinal grape juice, I think I have a jug of moscato around here somewhere!
BLURF. So tired… So looking forward to a three day weekend.
Worked, came home. I will have to work late tomorrow.
Yay! Happy Thorsday, mumpers! Survived headwound pub without incident and with unspilled drinks.
What should I be striving for today?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 78 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 97 for the day. Gonna be hawt again.
So far, I haven’t heard any fireworks. This will change today I am sure. There’s a big celebration with fireworks planned to take place at the fairgrounds tomorrow. I shan’t be anywhere any of that. Hangin’ with friends at the cee-mint pond and havin’ a nummy Fourth of July feast is all the excitatement da bear needs.
Speakin’ of which, ribs and chikin are all ready to be put on the smoker. TPTB sent an email yestiddy afternoon declarin’ that we may close our orifices at noon today if desired. My [del]minions[/del] assistants already know they have a half day today (and half off with pay!). I shall be there until around twoish as today is payday and Ima hang around a bit longer to hear whineage from the three folks I know who won’t get paid because they did not get their timesheet in on time. Boo! Hoo! Hoo! will pretty much be my response.
Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
We apparently had some substantial rain last night, but I sure didn’t hear it. I was tahred!!! And before going to bed, I put some cortisone cream on my bug bites, so no itching ensued. Yay!
It got up to 80° in the house yesterday - I’m pretty sure it’s because **FCD **had the exhaust fan going in the basement to keep primer fumes out of the house, and it was sucking the cool air out of the house, too. The a/c was running and running to no effect, but when he finally turned the fan off, things eventually cooled down. I really dread our next electrical bill.
**kai **- I hope the medicinal grape juice worked. Whether or not **flytrap **is being a pest, medicinal grape juice (MGJ?) is still an excellent idea.
**Butters **- are you dealing with any particular issue or is it just one of *those *weeks? Hang in there - it’s almost weekend!
When we were out erranding yesterday, during one of our stops, I saw a grill/smoker combo - very nice! If I had $450 to spare, I’d have bought it and larned myself to smoke stuff. Instead, I’ll continue to envy those of you who can make your own yummy meats. Maybe Santa will bring me one?
Dunno what today’s plans are. We may get more rain today and tomorrow from the outer bands of Arthur. **FCD **hopes to start painting his bike but he still has to decide on all of the artwork. I may have some studio time. We’ll just have to see.
Happy Thursday!!
Flytrap a pest? Look at the first three letters of his name. Nobody likes flies. :dubious:
Whatever happened to the mumperfest & kitchen counter show? I could bring a smoked sumptin’.
I musta been really tahred yesterday. I woke up earlier today than I did yesterday when I was on Murphy; there’s no curtains or blinds on the deck & sunrise is real early these days.
Morning all,
We are battening down the hatches around here. Most fire works around here are being postponed until Saturday. Storm should be to the south of us but we might get a 40 mph wind gust or two. The umbrella and all the outdoor seat cushions have been put away. Learned that lesson a couple of years back during a hurricane when I looked out to see one of the cushions make a break for it and fly away never to be seen or heard from again. Mr. Jynxsters and I will probably head up the coast to my parental units after the storm has passed Friday afternoon.
Spidey, I was actually thinking about doing a Mumpfest, but my impending trip is occupying most of my attention. Maybe in the fall when we can have part of it outside without melting? I shall think on that.
I seem to have misplaced my motivation. It’s not in the pocket of the bathrobe I’m still wearing…
Up and caffeinated. They are re-roofing the apartment this morning, so Gordie is "ROOF!"ing along with 'em.
Glad you made it through Headwound Pub, BooFae You could always decorate you office for “Good Riddence Bloody Colonials” Day tomorrow.
It was 90 degrees at the house last night at 8 o’clock. Humidity was probably right up around the same number. And this morning we’re under a Tropical Storm advisory until sometime Friday night.
While taking down the canvas awning on the little gazebo we have on the back deck, I kinda messed up my back. And then I really messed it up a little later when I tried to stand up after sitting on the couch for awhile. I hate that crap - less than 30 years ago I would be climbing huge pieces of rocks in West Virginia, and contorting myself in all directions. Today I can’t even navigate the living room without injury. Getting old sucks, kids. Don’t do it.
Will you guys quit saying that?
They were my FIL (v.1.0) Last Words.
Happy Thorsday!
It’s hot, been hot, gonna stay hot.
It looks like the nights might start dropping into the 60s so that’s a good thing.
I got paid today, that was a surprise. I don’t know why I should be surprised since tomorrow is a holiday but it still surprised me.
Spidey they weren’t too smart. Everybody who watches the ID channel will tell you that you never buy the tarps and the duct tape at the same place at the same time.
But people are dumb. I saw a repeat of one last night where the guy lied to the police, saying he wasn’t home when his wife died. Too bad his own security cameras caught him coming home at the time. Although I guess I should say in his defense, he didn’t know that even if he took the tape out there was backup footage sent to the hard drive at the security company. However had he not made a big deal of calling the security company and asked a lot of questions, the security company may not have become suspicious and called the police.
I guess the moral of the story is, if you are going to commit a murder get all your ducks lined up in a row first.
That was productive! I got groceries, and they’re all put away, including the chickie tits and used burger patties which have been sealed in single-meal air-tight packages and stowed in the freezer. I lurve my vacuum food-sealer thingie - it’s actually my second one. I bought the first one from a coworker and used it till it died. The replacement is even better!! After the rotisserie, I think it’s my favorite kitchen toy!
Anyway, groceries done, dishwasher unloaded, cat box cleaned, and now I’m waiting till **FCD **wants lunch. Very productive morning. And grocery shopping while everyone else is at work is da bestest!!!
Plus Food Lion had cherries on sale, and I lurves me some cherries. I might go back and get some more to make cherry jam. nom nom nom
Howdy from the orifice! I told both local and long distance [del]minion[/del] assistant they could vamoose whenever they so desired. They so desired to do so right then and there. So, here I am all alone sans supervision. For real. TPTB are not even in their orifices right now.
So, I shall take care of some stuff and be around in case of whineage etc. So far no whineage so either everything is ok or they’ve figured out it won’t do any good so why bother.
Funny, it always seems that TPTB always are in one of their orifices.
Heading off to work.
