There was a Pit thread by a Doper who worked for an insurance company, and the troubles he was having with one of his customers. It included references to *Dune *(insurance is the little death) and was quite hysterical to read.
Speaking of work there is also the mysterious co-worker who disappeared. And the boombox incident.

Here’s a recap with additions — let me know if I missed a thread, event or whatever.
I haven’t started figuring out the order of things yet, so it’s still a hodgepodge of items. I now know a couple, but if anyone has date information (or we can parse it out through relative dating), that would be great.
I added a short list of Dearly(ish) Departed Dopers. In picking colours for the categories, I thought it appropriate to leave this one black 
The list is dreadfully short, and I can think of a lot more that could go on, but figured I’d leave it a bit more open — let the criteria evolve a bit. If anyone comments, remember that the banned can’t respond and that this is somewhat slanted towards fond memories.

Don’t know. There’s no list in the mod sections as far as I know, but that doesn’t mean one isn’t kept elsewhere. One could probably be put together anyhow.

I would add Wally to the"Board Events" as our first reported death. At the time, we all pretty much bought it for face value, and it took a while for it to sink in that something just didn’t seem right. I guess as it turns out, poopah chalupa was the first confirmed board death.
I think I was off the Boards when the whole WallyM7 story collapsed in on itself, though I was here when his ‘passing’ was marked; what exactly happened there?
