That's it. Let's have a Comfort Party.

Oh my God you folks are still here? There must be alot of folks who need comforting…
** Bring in the Dale Earnhart blanket and the macho pussy **

My Aunt Virginia is in the hospital and on dialisis. She’s the last of her Sibling group and it ain’t lookin’ good.
My Roommate is her son, and she’s more a Momma to me right now than the woman who gave birth to me. Everyone here is downhearted and close mouthed.

But, to top all that off, we had a friend move back from out of state and he just showed up at our home with his 3 dogs (all big and one brute is a obedience school drop out who kills cats) Without calling to ask if this was cool. Now, the Roomate, feels guilty because said friend gave him a place to stay when things went rough and he hasn’;t the heart to tell him to get the dogs the hell out of the house.BTW none of them are leash trained so we can’t chain them in the backyard.

Because of this, my boys (2Cats) who havn’t had themselves limited are now sequestered in the upstairs. The dog hair is piling up in the carpet because he won’t vaccuum after the bastards and you don’t even want to know about the mess of loose dogfood on the kithen floor. We told him him and his pack have untill June 30th to get the hell out.

The last one is a good one but the timing stinks. Two days before the hound Pack shows up we here in the house decided to stop smoking the ganga. Not even a pipe in the house. Above friend still smokes.

Damn, this has been a bad month.

Anyone got a strawberry smoothie for a downhearted gal?

Smoothies, hugs, and an offer to do a little Chicago Diplomacy if things get bad, Telcontar.

One strawberry smoothie coming up.

We’re clearing out the attic and fixing it up to make room for a friend who’s moving in to help take care of my wife. Friend has five cats and a dog the size of a small horse; she promises that the dog will be okay staying in the attic, and she’s paying to have a high fenced dog run put in the back yard. The dog is currently boarded with another friend and won’t be moving in right away, but Beth has to have her stuff out of where she’s currently staying by next weekend or pay another month’s rent. So when I get off work in two hours I can look forward to spending the rest of the day up in the attic.

I hope things work out for you guys Lurky. Fingers crossed the barking horse doesn’t bother the cats and new kittens.

Hi, people.

Can I join the comfort party, (un)fashionably late though I am?

Hugs to **Scribble. Wanna hold my puppy? She’s soft and lovely. Need a drink? We’ve some left over pizza around here somewhere…

Welcome

Why, thank you, Washte. I’d be happy to hold the puppy, and, yeah, I’d love a drink. Any pinia coladas left over?

Here are some homemade truffles–some cinnamon ones, some made with rum, and some made with amaretto.

I’d love leftover pizza. Cold pizza…mmmm…

Takes pizza from the fridge and hands it to Scribble along with a pina colada to wash it down with.

Anyone else need owt?

The pizza’s hitting the spot. Thanks.

Where can I put these truffles?

You can put them here on the table next to me. Can I interest you in a kitten? Free to a good home as soon as they’re old enough.

Oh, and Washte as long as you’re up I wouldn’t mind a slice of pizza and a drink. After I’ve had a bit of a rest I’ll start a batch of chili and cornbread.

Oooooooh…KITTIES!!!

I love kitties. I can’t have one at my apartment, because I wouldn’t be home often enough to take care of it properly. But can I play with one while I’m here?

I’ll trade ya this puppy for a kittie. If Washte doesn’t mind you playing with the puppy, that is.

[Zenster lights ultra-expensive, hand poured, swirled patterned, extinct flower petal embedded, amber infused, prehistoric rose pollen scented, nautilus extract colored, rare Egyptian bee’s wax constructed, braided wick, marblized pillar candle from Timbukutu’s most exclusive once-every-ten-years-under-a-silken-topped-tent market]

ArrrMatey Thanks for the offer. Nice to know that someone’s got a plan

Damn, wrong button, Hopefully I won’t need your services

Thanks too LurkMeister Glad I ain’t the only one doing this deal.

The whole thing could be very tolerable without the cannine brutes. Another roommate to help pay the bills and all. As money here are a bit tight for all concered and we’ll probly have to move and find a less expensive place anyhow. I hate packing and moving.

Good news is now after 7 days the Ganja joneses have worn off.

Damn stress stinks.

** downs the smootie in one long series of gulps, and seeks a quiet dog free chair to plop into **

Thanks for listening.

Wow! I popped out to deliver Sunday papers, and look at the crowd that showed up in the meantime! I’m so happy to see everyone!

Tel, honey, I’m just going to send you vibes that will rush the month of June right by, and a strong will to stand up to the dog-owning friend of a friend. Good vibes and wishes to everyone else, too, including your practically-mother. And hells bells, tell that dude to stop smoking, it’s not HIS house.

[hugs ArrMatey] It’s just always so good to see you here…comforting, somehow.

Lurkmeister, after you finish the attic, come on back and we’ll set you up with a nice soothing foot massage, how’s that? And we’ll send your friend a candle for her new place.

Scribble, you darling…you can put those truffles right here…this is, technically, my plate, I know, but of course I’ll share. Of course I will! Really! [sub]Heh heh heh…alllll MINE![/sub]

Zenster, love! Imagine you showing up here–welcome! And how did you know that this was the exact candle I’ve been dreaming of? You must be psychic. And very thoughtful, of course. How’s about some blueberry lemon muffins?

Hmmmm…have I missed anyone. Washte? You doing okay, sweetpea?

And am I using quite enough endearments today? I just can’t seem to help myself at the moment…it’s so very nice to be surrounded with all the good feelings here.

Let’s see now, I’m in the mood to bake. Any requests?

Listening is what we’re here for.

It’s amazing how much it helps sometimes to tell someone else your troubles, even if there’s bugger-all they can do to help you with them. And if I had a quarter for every time I’ve sat in front of the computer and typed out a long account of some current problem or complaint and then not bothered to actually post it…well, I’d have a whole bunch of quarters.

Here you go friend. ::hands Lurky a huge slice of pizza::

Would you care for a beer, or a strawberry dacquiri?

Baking requests? How about banana and malteaser (maltball) cakes? Or even summat pumpkiny? OOOOH OOOOOH angel food cake??? Haven’t had any of that in about 5 years… sounds scrummy… Dang I’ve got the munchies.

We are just having chili and rice if anyone is hungry.

Kitty names… How about naming one of the white ones with orange spots Nehi… Remember Nehi?? Loved it when I was a kid.

Washte, love the ‘location’.

And I fondly remember Nehi! When I was a kid, we couldn’t get it around where we lived, but my cousins could, so I’d go sorta nehi-crazy when we visited them!

And Bodypoet, thanks. That’s the nicest thing anyone’s said to me all day.

Thanks ArrrMatey. Casey is growing like a weed, but her fur is just so strokably soft. Just want to cuddle her all day

Haven’t had a Nehi in about 20 odd years, but they so cross my mind occasionally. Just thought it would make a cute name

Banana and maltball cake? Sounds intriguing.

Oh, and I misspoke about the kittens’ colors. I could have sworn when I looked at them that first morning that I saw some orange coloring on the two white ones, but when I was putting them into the box they were both all white; one is a pure snow-white and the other is a sort of dusty white. Of the other two, one is orange with white mottling and the other is black with orange mottling and some white patches on the belly.

I haven’t had a Nehi in years; after years of Scout camp where the primary beverage was oversweetened orange and grape drinks made from powdered mix I lost my taste for orange and grape flavored soda.

Which reminds me of a cartoon I saw when the second Star Wars movie came out:
Luke and Yoda are standing in the beverage aisle of a store.
Luke I’m seeking a great Nehi master.
Yoda Ah! You seek Soda.

Ouch! Who threw that?
