I’ve purchased three. One was phased out, despite their literature that those owned by clients would still be supported. The second failed, and we are using the third.
I put the Vizio 60" TV into the Sony 65" TV box. I’m going to take it into town tomorrow to see if it can be fixed without costing too much. Getting the box into the Jeep is really a two-person job, but I did it myself. It almost didn’t fit. Cherokees are ‘compact SUVs’. First I tried putting the front end on top of the folded-up back seat. I needed just a few more inches. So I lifted it up and rested the end against the front seat headrests. Unfortunately…
… The Jeep’s battery is dead. I knew it was not holding a charge well, but thought it would be OK. Nope. I put the charger on it, and I’ll take it to my local guy for a new battery after work.
As long as I was outside, I thought I’d start up the MGB. It turned over once and then said, ‘I don’t wanna.’ I’ll have to put the charger on that next. The MG uses two 6 v batteries. When I called to see if I could bring the Jeep in, I made sure the procedure is to put the red lead onto the positive terminal of one battery and the black lead onto the negative terminal of the other battery. I hope these batteries last. Six-volt car batteries are expensive.
I’m tortured. I watched the impeachment vote all morning. The lil’wrekker came in and flipped it off. She said "Mother you’re bleary-eyed. Jeez, she’s such a Mother hen. Another Nazi telling me what to do.
Her BF, Hamza brought me a box of fake snow balls (puffy white things) I threw one at her. Started a running snowball fight between her and Hamza. Funny:)
I’m feeling pretty good. I may take a little ride somewhere this afternoon. If I get the lazies outta my system.
Good day, All!
Dbl post
How does it come to pass that, other than the British enjoy making strange electrical connections?
I went to get the brats and we have flurries.
I’d like to take a nap but I have to irk.
Mooooooom, I’m with you on the totes. I drove open bed pickups and did laundry in a laundromat enough years that I turned to Rubbermaid totes for use in lieu of suitcases and clothes baskets. I still use them that way except when I fly.
We had our departmental holiday luncheon at irk today. It was less than stellar Mexican food (I went to this place once when I first moved to town and never went back). We also finished the gingerbread house (a very nice looking one, I must say). The old bat showed up, so’s I was only doing the irk of two instead of three.
Got stuff done and thought I’d go to the gym. En route, my stomach started hurting. Too bad. I got there and started working out, and the pain got so bad, I just couldn’t do it. I walked home. I feel better after um, ridding my stomach of its contents. Trying to decide whether to go back or not. I hate quitting, and I think I could do it, but I’m a little worried the pain might return.
Fed and abed. Back to irk tomorrow. It will be nice to get away from the TV as I have been engrossed in the impeachment hearings and debates.
We are getting down to 64F purportedly. It has already cooled considerably. There is a 60% chance of rain tonight and tomorrow which I don’t mind at all.
Night all!
nellie, I’m not doctor, but that sounds like it could be an ulcer…if it happens again soon, I’d suggest seeing your doctor. Hope you get to feelin’ better. And yes, I did sleep good.
flyboy, my car has a computer that shows me the battery power; it looks good now but I’m coming up on 3 years use and it ‘original equipment’, so I’m debating about getting a new one this spring along with new tires.
Spent a lot of money today (I had it saved so it’s not like I’m buried in debt), and now own a new Sectional, A King-size Master Bedroom set, A Queen-sized 2nd Bedroom set (in case any of y’all come calling), Mattresses and springs for both, a new U-shaped desk with Hutch, and three new wood filing cabinets. It was…expensive…but not as bad as I had budgeted, so there is that. Also have an appointment for the rug people to come over to give me an estimate. The TV/New computer will come a little later in the process. Then come the odds and ends (an Ottoman for the sectional and new chandeliers w/fans) and any money left will determine how much of a vacation I take this year.
And then (except for the disasters that occur to any homeowner), I should be set for the next 20 years (when I’m 86 and hopefully still living here).
Now have to see if the Salvation Army wants my ‘old’ stuff…
Howdy Y’all! I procured provisions this mornin’ and then lazed about until it was time to head over to the church house. I did chores and then OYKW and I did ush duty for the service. We almost walked out still wearin’ the usher tags, but somehow both brain cells bumped into each other and I suggested we take 'em off and leave 'em.
We went to Booger King and then came back to da cave. OYKW is abed and I shall be in the not too distant future. All in all not a bad day.
I got my Christmas cards in the mail!!! They are heading all over, but are all in the USA. One is going to Georgia, BTW.
I always try to do them early, and never do.
MetalMouse, I’ve had stomach issues for years. They think it’s related to the lupus. I have IBS, which doesn’t help. But as luck would have it, my annual physical is tomorrow, so I’ll tell doc about it. I didn’t return to the gym, as I’m still not up to snuff. (Where does THAT saying come from?)
I’m excited about your new furnishings! So delightful to have new stuff, especially after saving up! What color is your new sectional?
Who can say? Although my '46 Willys CJ2A had a 6 v battery. May have been more common back then. (The MG is a '66.)
I used to have a Die Hard in the Jeep, but we don’t have a Sears anymore. It lasted a very long time. The Interstate battery that failed was four years old. It had a 5-year warranty, so I did get a small discount. (It was $10, which is what I could have sold the battery for.)
Feel.better Nellie.
A friend of mine has had a stomach bug at their house. Sounds horrid. School’s out for Christmas break, I’ll be seeing the grandwreks a lot more. I hope they aren’t biological weapons. I’d like to get through Christmas without being sick.
How many miles? You don’t get particularly cold winters down there; not sure I’d replace either yet.
But what about Paul Michael Glaser? ![]()
Beck, the last thing you need are germs. How about a big vat of Lysol inside your entryway for the grandkids? Enter, dunk, enter, dunk.
I have two words: Lucas Electrics.
Speaking of can’t sleep, I’m still sneaking up on the needed treatment level with my Inspire, aka sleep pacemaker.
So dreaming is normal? People have weird little art house movies in their heads while they sleep? Apparently I’ve been deprived of oxygen while I sleep for so long that my brain is just sort of freewheeling while it’s now starting to get some?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 32 Amurrkin out and clear ('tis true cause I went out on the back porch, looked up at the sky and saw stars) with a predicted high of 56 and N.O.S. for the day. I shall hang at da cave until around threeish this afternoon and then head over to the church house to set up chairs on the playground for the kiddies Christmas Pageant that starts at five-thirty. We shall also set up to serve hawt chawklit and cookies on the patio just outside the kitchen after the pageant, although I think it would be a better idea to do that in the Parish hall. However, I do not argue with the church ladies PTB and will do as I am told. After it’s all over, the chairs will need to be hauled back to the Parish hall. Rah. Sup shall be sammiches and chips at da cave when this is all over. Anywho, that’s my day today.
MetalMouse you probably already said, but I have the memory of a gnat, when do you get your new stuff delivered?
nellie good luck with the doc today. It would be a good idea to mention yestiddy’s tummy problem.
gotti from what I’ve been told by folks I know who have sleep pacemakers, once you get all adjusted you will have the best sleep you have ever had. So, sump’n to look forward to there.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
