The I can't sleep so I might as well start the MMP

We just found out where we’re going. El Gaucho in downtown Seattle. I looked at the menu.   Anytime I have a meal that expensive, I’m not paying for it! So, yeah… It’s worth the bow tie.

In other news, I wanted to show a new cow-orker a picture of Mrs. L.A. when she was flying Black Hawks in Iraq. (The new cow-orker is a pilot.) My webpage didn’t come up. Turns out, they have a new server and the old pages can’t be maintained. So I’m getting more space on a new host, my own domain name, and a new email address. They’re going to redirect my current email address to the new one. But I hate having to set things up.

An announcement just came over the intercom. Time to leave!

I hope you have an extra “D” in there & are not the designated drunk driver.

Last night was our annual caroling run (our version of SantaCon). My car was nowhere to be seen as it was wisely & safely left home in the garage. I may or may not have been able to walk on the curb (aka a ‘straight line’) when I got home.
I was a, rather tall, elf with much red & green blinking lights (gotta be safe out there). I bought a hat two (or three) years ago, just for this. It’s got little blinking LEDs in it & only (is supposed to) gets worn for this event. I actually had it in my hand yesterday afternoon but then realized after I was already at the first bar that it was still at home in my coat closet. :smack: Also never thought about grabbing my battery operated snowflake lights long necklace thingimabob. :smack: :o
Nice lunch, Rotorhead.

I almost posted this on last weeks MMP -------- just caught myself that split second before I hit Post.

I’m still on this page? What have all of you been doing with yourselves? Forget I asked – going by my hours you have all been online shopping.

Before I forget – Spidey – have you ever attended Smiling Banjo?

This is my mandatory day off but tomorrow I’m back at it. It really has been a fun season for me. I am not sure all my managers would agree. I think one is stock-piling safety knives and reading guides on seppuku but for me its been a blast. I’m tired, I smell most days when I get home and I’m not totally sure what day it is ---- Pajama Day I believe. I know tomorrow is Silly Hat Day. But for now I’m just riding the wave.

As Johnny LA said, we’re getting drenched. My town set a record for precip yesterday (over 2"), and it looks like Seattle did the same and is on track to break another record today.

I want to try to get to the gym, since my joints aren’t too bad . I also need to get to the grocery store because it’s having a Friday-only sale on some food items I need for the Christmas feast. The latter will require the use of my babushka cart (since I don’t drive), which I can’t take to the gym. I will have to make two separate trips. I will also have to bring something waterproof to cover the cart so everything doesn’t get drenched on the way home.

I wish I owned a wetsuit.

I am going to pay for this in a few days but … I have been getting up at 04:45, clocking in at 06:30, clocking out at 13:30, clocking in again at 18:00 and clocking out at 22:00. My sleep has been 6-7 hours a day in two 3-4 hours shifts roughly. I paid for it today since I was off ---- in more ways than one. I still woke up at 05:00 and couldn’t get back to sleep until my 15:00 nap. And as you can tell I have only survived by going back to military time as befits the combat conditions of the season. Tomorrow isn’t bad – just one 5 hour shift in the afternoon. But starting Sunday night/Monday morning I am 00:00-03:00 and 06:30-13:30 - then Monday night I clock in at 19:30 to 22:30 and again Tuesday at 06:30 until God only knows when as we have to empty the building by 18:00. Although at 13:30 I can officially declare it someone elses’ problem.

Now I know what Patton felt – God help me I LOVE IT!

Things did not end well for General Patton, pearl handles or not.

I know; I already decided that if bolts pop out of the rollers the OW can be a really wealthy widow.

I feel a little guilty now for ordering stuff from da jungle that is not for Christmas. It doesn’t feel like Christmas at all this year, and if I need something I order it, even though some of it could wait until after Christmas. Like the dishwasher detergent.
For me, other than going to the armpit, Christmas is just another day.
I am going to wait until after Christmas to order some things for the house-cleaning party. I’d like to order some fancy pants rubber gloves like the lady wore on How Clean is Your House? I think that would be fun.

Don’t feel guilty; remember – I used to build the pallets your stuff headed to your PO on. We love the people who do the regular things (except dogfood and kitty litter). And for everything beyond the place the boxes get filled (and even a lot of them) peasants like me have to volunteer for extra time. And to be honest ------- some of my co-irkers can really use the huge checks from the last couple of weeks. We’re part-timers and our usual weeks are like 18-24 hours. With time-and-a-half over 40 hours we’re talking some real bread on the table.

And for the real Christmas spirit I always fall back on my

Does she have an email address? :dubious:

Does she have an email address?

Notice that was posted twice. It is important. A cell number would also be important. Just sayin’.

It took me longer than anticipated at the store, as it was a madhouse. Now it’s later than I wanted to leave for the gym, as it’s dark. I’ll wear my blinky clips on my shoes and carry my mini-flashlight plus my umbrella.

The creek I pass on my way to the store was more like a river. The little islands are submerged, but it’s not over its banks. I hope this doesn’t turn to snow as it heads east or people are going to get inundated.

The guys upstairs were very quiet last night, so I slept well. Maybe my note did some good? Fingers crossed.

Sorry about the dog food. No more kitty litter though, my cat goes outside.
He went out last night right before I went up to bed. I heard him crying, but my son had already let him back in. It was cold out there.

I have a lot of subscription orders. If i can get it from da jungle, that is where I’m getting it. Even a lot of groceries. If I never had to set foot in a brick and mortar store again I’ll be happy.

I haven’t seen Antlers/Gruffy for a while. Every time I say that she shows up. I forgot to put food out for her, when I don’t see her I forget sometimes. I hope she is okay out there in the cold. I should move the bowl out front for her, Lil’ Shit is determined to get to the food and she is damn agile.

chizzuk, as a 56 year old woman living only with a dog and having a 9 gallon tote of Legos, I approve of your purchase. Enjoy putting them together.

Congrats to OYKW upon his retirement swampy.

Irked, cut out a little after lunch, bought groceries, came home and took Nelson to the dog park. He was the only one there, but he had a good run. Hardee’s cooked supper. Chill time.

One of those cute girls in hot pants and a tube top, shivering in the December weather ran over to my car at a stop light on JFK.
“I’ll do anything you want for fifty dollars!”
“Great!” I said, “Paint my house.”
She must not have been serious.

FIFTY DOLLARS!

Drive up to Baltimore, you can get the same deal for $10.
Of course she won’t be cute, probably missing a few teeth.
And her ‘bf’ will roll you behind the 7-11.

Just as well though, because if she has all her teeth, she is probably a cop.

That was very funny. I laighed out loud.
Oh, wait I’m supposed to be mope-ing and pouting. (:()

It’s cold today. The neighbor is moving out, so Gordie spent the morning losing his Skittles. I was lacking in the holiday spirt, so I wnet to the ABC store, and picked up some Tanquray #10.

It will putrefy!
What?
Go bad.
I suppose it would ooze a lot, 'eads usually do.[/Yellowbeard]
Sorry, couldn’t resist my favorite line.

My parents still have my 9 gallons of Legos. And my Calvin and Hobbes inspired ceramic snowman from high school art class.

And congrats to OYKW!

How will she get to Arkansas to paint my house?
