And we’re not going to the company party after all. He changed his mind again. Which is fine with me.
**FCD **and I had a good visit to Hair Cuttery - I look like less of a scruffy sheepdog and his hair is finally laying well on the right side of his head (last haircut was baaaaaad!) Then I ran into Food Lion and got some of the Diet Coke that’s on sale, followed by a McBreakfast.
I still need to go out later to get the wine. First, tho, I have to decide which cookies I want to bake, then check that I have all the ingredients. So I’ll have to venture out at least once more. Dammit. And I pulled some stew meat out of the freezer - we’re gonna have veggie-beef soup for supper. Yum!
metal mouse, I would love to have tile or wood floors throughout my apartment. Alas, it, like most apartments in my range, come with carpet in the living room and bedroom.
bumba, I had a full hysterectomy (used to be major surgery too) four years ago done laparoscopically and was out of the horsepistol in 36 hours. Gallbladders are having similar time results.
spidey, your record player likely has 8 or 16 RPM on the low end. Those speeds were meant for books on record.
I hope you feel better soonest dicey.
Irked yesterday (we got quite a bit done on the team project of a gingerbread house), swung through Steak-N-Shake for a quick supper, walked the dog, hit the grocery store and went out to hear some friends’ band (they were doing one of their Christmas shows fairly close to me). Got home slightly before the grey ghost turned into a pumpkin.
The puppy crate is clean, a load of towels and throw rugs in the dryer, clothes in the wash, KP done and fixing to put the dirty Santa gift in the bag for the holiday party this evening. I’ll get purtified and make some sesame sweet potato noodles (the host requested this for the potluck) to take with. I need to swing through Sonic for a gift card to send the last Christmas gift/card. Tomorrow, I’ll sleep in, then take a nice drive to Peagram, TN for a marketplace buy.
Already a busy day. Started laundry, made coffee, the OW is off getting her hair done for the MC party tonight. Its raining steady and long and I added our former table to our eBay crap hoping to find it a home. (Our seller name is SBAgirl in case anyone is curious enough to see pictures). And laundry is calling so --------- later gators!
He’s a chi-yip-yap. Pick him up (with one hand) & put him into the sink; they’re not big enough to get out.
 Do it, Bumba; otherwise you’ll stop posting on the dope.
How is the Bobster?
I was thinking 16 or 18, so it must be a 16.
Of course I stopped on the way home last night, in the rain, because there was zero, zip, nada, nilch, no milk in the house. This morning I realized that I have both bread & eggs that need to be used so I made Irish Toast, which, of course, uses ‘special’ cream in place of milk. :smack:
Also, traffic accident(s) ruined my chance to get a cool photo op as I wouldn’t be able to make it in time to see the Gray Line marching with a backdrop of the grey, misty skies.
Never was a fan of poptarts. Toaster strudels were my jam.
When the GirlChild[sup]tm[/sup] jettisoned hers a few years ago she spent 3 or 4 days in the horsepistol. Her’s had calcified  and they had to open a big hole to get it out.
Doesn’t matter what you call him (or her), I’ll forget it immediately anyway. And don’t laptops come with a keyboard built in? Alla the ones I’ve ever seen did.
I’ve always considered dying a bit of a problem, though everybody eventually seems to manage it.
Now I need to make myself presentable and hie over to the Thriftway. They have chickie butts on for $0.99/lb and we wants some(/a bunch).
Wifey is off drawing nekkie peeple this morning, but when she comes back she says we’re gonna give Vinnie a bath. That’s always fun.
I got the wine and the other $10 (actually $13) gift. Everything is wrapped, except I forgot to do the inlaws’ Echo. And it was sitting right there, dammit! I’ll get it.
In case anyone is dying of curiosity, our goofy gift exchange contributions are a sundae kit (waffle bowls, hot fudge sauce, caramel sauce, cocktail peanuts, and chocolate sprinkles) and a nutty kit (honey roasted nuts, cashews, pistachios, and trail mix.)
And I just started the veggie-beef soup that we’ll have for supper - the beef, onions, and 'maters are simmering. I’ll add veggies and rice or N.O.T.s later. It should be yum.
Time to assume the crochet position. I’m going to make a couple of hats for friends of my daughter who are moving from Orlando to some place in Missouri in January. I have a crochet pattern that makes up really fast. That will be my evening.
I got my new hat today, well really a balaclava. That should keep my neck and nose warm.
I also got a new hoodie. I didn’t need a new hoodie, but it was on sale for $7.99 and that was too good to pass up.
One load of laundry done, another in the washer, two more to go, well actually three, but the whites can wait a bit longer, they’re not a full load yet. I should wash the dogs harnesses too, but they take so long to dry, should have done them first.
I have some peppers and onions I need to use soon, don’t know what I want to do with them though.
Evening all. Spent about 6 hours on indoor soccer, and since my total sustenance at the time was a bag of Bugles and a Pepsi, I decided to eat an early dinner at Logna’s Roadhouse. ordered the meatloaf after noticing it was back on the menu after being out for 12-15 months, and was told they were out! The funny thing is that all this time I’ve been ordering it (they have it on the lunch menu and still had it programmed for dinner in the computer) without it being on the menu and never had a problem, and now that it’s ‘official’ again… Settled for a Sirloin steak.
Bumba, yes, the laptop comes with a keyboard and a ‘fingertouch’ mouse. Thing is, I don’t like the ‘feel’ of either and picked up the other stuff for use when I can.
And what did Nellie get done today? Did she finally get to the PO so she’d shut up about it? Noooo. I spent four hours–the four hours the PO is open on Saturdays–on the phone with a relative with mental health issues. He is exhausting. However, I’m the only adult relative outside his mom whom he feels comfortable talking with, and this only happens every few months. He does have a therapist. He just doesn’t see the world the way the rest of us do because his disability keeps him from interacting with people much.
And now that I think about it, what am I so frustrated for? The PO can wait. La famiglia é tutto, si?
Oooh, let us know if they shoot flames 3’ high like the strawberry Pop-Tarts do; I mean purely for scientific reasons.
I walked past Sidewalk Jesus; he looked at me & said, “nice shirt”. As I passed him the next thing he said was, “Remember the Christ in Christmas.” Now I like my [del]shirt[/del] jersey, too; which is why I got it, but it’s not exactly about remembering Christ &/or Christmas. I was wearing a seasonably appropriate hockey jersey because I ended my afternoon by stopping by the SantaCon but man, the first bar was all young stuff; felt like I was back in college again. :o
So the Canes snuffed the Flames. Me and couple of folks stuck around, and some sort of Santa Hat Pub Crawl came in, so we mingled. One of 'em had that jersey.
“You’re only as young as you feel, so only feel young people”
Got our Christmas present installed today, a 65" Sony TV. I had to go to the hardware store for some anchors. These are bolts within a collapsable sheath that expands to hold tight. They went into 1" ship lath panelling. I moved the mount about six inches higher than it was. The holes I drilled for the top row of anchors were problematic. Must be a bean back there. Eventually, I got the wall mount mounted. Then we had to put the TV onto it. I knew this would be a PITA. The first screw is tha hardest. To cut a long story short, I lost a couple of washers. I had to go to the hardware store again. This was the third trip, as I went do the store the second time for a couple of washers. :smack: Anyway, we got the new 65" Sony mounted. The picture is great!
After having spent about four hours taking down the old TV, making three trips to the hardware store, and mounting the new TV, I had a beer. Then I had some red wine. We decided to go out for Mexican food for dinner. I had three hot wings, some chips, and about half of a taco salad – and two Grande Cadillac margaritas. I admit I had to keep one eye closed on the way home to prevent seeing double.
Now I have to figure out what to do with the old TV. I’ll see about getting it repaired, and then maybe put it up in my room.
In my defense, I have a cold and am on 3 different medications.
I suppose I’m not allowed to vote on my name, so I’ll leave you guys to it.
After storm Veiko trying to blow Switzerland away, which meant many Christmas markets were delayed or canceled yesterday, today is beautiful blue sky (N.O.S., I believe) with an expected high of 12 (53 American), which means I can go buy my favorite anise cookies. And stock up on springrolls and non-Swiss cheese. And then return home to sit on the couch / do homework / vege.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 38 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> and N.O.S. for the day. Today we shall deheathenate (today is Gaudete Sunday) followed by N.O.L. somewhere. I’d just as soon come back to da cave and nosh but I’ve been told we shall eat out. Hey, if’n OYKW is buyin’, then I’m eatin’. The rest of the day shall be devoted to chillage.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization shall commence.
Oh, you can vote all you want. It won’t count, but knock yourself out!
The rain finally ended last night, and we got to see the (mostly) full moon. Today is supposed to be bright and beautiful and on the chilly side, but it’s December, right? Daughter’s trying to tire Roxy so she’ll nap when we drive to my sister’s later this morning. We’ll be leaving in 3 hours or so - the festivities are supposed to start around noon.
**FCD **will continue working. He’s all happy because he finally figured out some very helpful parts of the analysis software and things are moving faster than they had been. He still won’t take a day off… OK, and he’s not crazy about this sister. SIL has to go to work early this afternoon, so he won’t be attending either. Plus there’s his social anxiety.
]Mornin’ glories- going shopping with the lil’wrekker. Y’all pray for me.
She’s easy to be with. Always cheerful. I dread the crowds tho’.
She needs some things and wants to get her BF a present or 2.
I feel strong so it shouldn’t be too bad.
Awoke with a sore throat. How? I haven’t been around any sick folks in days. I have laundry in the works. I am washing the sheets and blankets. And dog bath will happen today if nothing else does.
