the i need to build an ark MMP....

Chillage, indeed. Happy retirement FCM!!

Glad you’re OK nellie!

Happy retirement Moooooom! If you’re looking to buy nuts for less, if you have Sprout’s markets in your area, you can pretty much pay about half for the bulk ones than you would packaged.

What happened doggio? Allie Kat take flying leap into Gordie?

bumba, the impeachment hearings that I caught, I got to the point that I absolutely hated to hear someone with a southern accent begin to speak (and me, living in the south with a mixed accent myself  ). While many from both sides came off as morons, if they sounded like they came from south of the Ohio, it was pretty much 100% probability that they sounded like that.

Irk went well today. I’m trying to light fires under Procurement and Receiving to untangle some inventory issues before all of the emails send an OOO to me. I’m so ready for a couple of days off.

Miss a day and ya’ll get talkative; I wonder if I should take it personally.

Doc didn’t ask for cash up front which she and I agree is a good sign. All the tests seem to have gone well pending results of blood and a small sample of a lump we both think should be checked. I’ve had several cysts on my back over the years and she has opened and treated a couple on me herself. But this one felt different – so a little needlework and a little bit if stuff to test. I’m voting Catholic – its B-9.

Got a call from a Jungle boss from a few years back asking me if I would visit his place as Santa; site not his house. Although I could do that as well. I hope I can work out the details and do it; haven’t seen him for 3 years and he was one of the really good ones.

Other than that tomorrow the Old Wench FINALLY turns 60; the runny-nosed little rug-rat. But as its also the 25th anniversary of her brothers death we’re going to basically keep the day to ourselves and lower-keyed doing some stuff we enjoy.

Evening all. Helped keep the rugrats organized at soccer tonight while the dishwasher finished it’s cycle. High chance of rain starting early tomorrow and lasting all day. Oh joy.

ruble, happy birthday to the OW; long may she reign over you…

FCM, and the thing is done; welcome to mine and swampy’s world.

Cookie, at least you have a story on how you burned yourself while making ice…

doggio, pet collision? I am intrigued.

All y’all have a good evening now. Weekend is fast approaching.

I also managed to fuck up my fret hand today while trying to cut an apple into chunks for the curry. The apple rolled, so did the blade, and I sliced my left index finger. There goes practice for a couple of days or three.

The weather is blurfy. I made tequila lime fish with beans and rice, and corn with hatch chilies. Waiting for late night hockey.

Alex came running around one side of the couch, and Gordie was running around the other side to go out. Technically it was more of a “bonk” than a “crash”

Happy birthday to the OW ruble!

Sleepy. Day one of sloth in the books. I hope I sleep better tonight than I did last night.

Hubby says it is raining and cold in Jawja. Glad I am home.

Dinner tonight: Salmon baked with dill and a little kosher salt, lemon-dill Béchamel sauce, asparagus, and some Chardonnay.

What was wrong with them today? OK, so consensus is that that question is good for at least a few days of breakroom chat. I kept getting the overly repetitively redundant, the ones who made ME repeat myself ad nauseam because they couldn’t be bothered to listen, and a lot of major attitude. Yes, there was considerable overlap among the categories. At least drivers weren’t too utterly boneheaded today (a rarity here) and we got surprise pizza at lunch.

I have as little appetite this evening as I did yesterday (breakfast was two pop-tarts and a cheese stick, had another cheese stick as a snack, then had a couple of slices of pizza. Still trying to decide what is worth bothering to prepare and consume, that will actually sit decently on an iffy stomach.

Nothing much, just spidey has been hogging the top of the pages lately…

Good night all.

For the second month in a row the clouds rolled in just enough & just a wee bit before they were forecast to screw up my full moon shot. While I was the only one there, I was not the only one shooting tonight; however, all of the others had louder clicks than I did but that’s what you get during deer season in Pennsyltucky.

Last month I did not use any lights hiking back down the fire road to the parking lot where I left my car; didn’t need to. While I didn’t need any lights to see tonight I did look like a freakin’ Xmas tree on my walk out as I’ve never seen a deer (other than Rudolph - & he only had one nose light) with blinky lights creating a 360° field of light around them.
Nellie, how much are you willing to spend? I can recommend some of the best lights out there at just about any price point from about $20 up to $100. Also, I already mentioned getting a Class III reflective vest.
Beck, things like light up Xmas hats are bright when you’re up close but are pretty much useless to a car that needs to see you far enough away to recognize the source of the light (a person) & react accordingly. While Xmas lights make sidewalks brighter they create absolute havoc with runners/walkers personal lights as your single little light blends in with the display of the house behind you.

I did not venture out today. Hey, cars can’t hit you in a second floor apartment, right? I did get a reflective vest but didn’t think to wear it inside the complex.

I’m thinking of uniting my fellow pedestrians and forming a political party. The Pedestrian Party has a certain ring to it, no? Motto: Feet on the ground, eyes on the horizon. Or something.

Tree and Christmas decorations are up. Almost all the presents are wrapped, but I have more coming in tomorrow. And I need to get girts for my kids’ pets. Oh, and DD’s sister-in-law, if she’s coming. I watched White Christmas. Yikes, Vera Ellen was skinny!

Mooom, congrats on your retirement! Since you practiced this number before, I’m sure it’ll be smooth sailing. Hope you hear from Baby Engineer (Hey, I’m a poet!) that he liked the candy.

Tiptoes in carefully…

I’ve read the FAQ, but I still can’t figure out N.O.S. No obvious snow? No other silliness? New Old Stuff?

Search leads me to a post from 2004 describing chili. Not sure that’s it.

And yes, it’s a post from the previous week. I just decided to ask the question on the one week that it’s not in the thread. But the week’s not over yet.

Moooom, conga-rats on another retirement! Is this the last time? Or are you planning another comeback?

I have a management training course today, that’ll be fun…we’re having a potluck lunch for this one as well so that will be even more entertaining. Tomorrow I am off to see my doting parent and then going to a gig near where she lives, back to see her and do the grocery shopping etc on Sunday before heading back home. I know how to live

Happy Friday, everyone!

I’m fairly new, too, but it’s an affectionate little joke. NOS stands for “Not Our Sunny.” Our Sunny is Sunny Daze, so when swampbear says NOS, he means it’s going to be sunny outside, not that our Sunny, Sunny Daze, will be outside.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 57 and rain for the day and tonight. Unfortunately I must needs be out and about this mornin’. I have some [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden stuff to do and also need to set the thermostats in the church to come on around eleven tomorrow mornin’ as there is a hitchin’ up at one tomorrow afternoon. This means I get to undo all that on Sunday. Rah. I have some errands I need to do as well, includin’ a trip to Sam’s, which I shall accomplish since I will be in the general area. Sup shall be grilled chikin, sallit, and garlic bread.

MOOOOOOM I’m surprised that SSA hasn’t told you when SS will begin. I knew two months before it began for me. Also SSA claims to be goin’ paperless eventually, so it may be that your notification will be via an email tellin’ you that you have a message at the SSA site to notify you when SS will begin. ‘Tis a bit of a PITA as SSA will want to send you a text with a “security code” that you must enter in order to see said message. You’re probably already doin’ that since you’ve been on the site. Since your bday is near the end of the month, SS might not start before March since it apparently must be a full month before payments start.

Nava appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the interview.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire.

Happy FIRDAY THE THIRTEENTH Y’all!

I wake up well before I want to and am wide awake – darn this new work schedule. And even worse I’m well down the page!

This is from an email Baby Engineer sent to our group:

He’s such a comedian! I asked if he’d at least wait till I was out the door before moving all his crap to my desk. I left my personal email addy on the white board and I’ll see several of my (former) coworkers next Thursday, so we’ll see how he reacted to the candies.

I started retirement by waking around 5, of course, but I stayed in bed, playing stoopit games on my tablet till almost 7. **FCD **has left for a meeting, daughter is getting ready for work, Roxy is watching Sesame Street. Thus beginneth the day.

Happy Firday!!

**swampy **- when I filled out the application, I told them I wanted SS to begin in January - I guess they don’t care what I want, huh? Well, we shall see.

Forgot to mention my big plan for today - Higgs is being groomed at 11. With luck, she’ll stay relatively clean till we leave next week. Being a mostly inside dog, that shouldn’t be an issue. I hope.

I fired up the pellet stove to take the chill out of the air in here. It’s overcast and dreary, and I think some extra warmth will be nice. Onward!!
