Hey all, it’s me. Hey doggio! : tacklehug : back!
Sunny Dayz thanks! I have had a difficult time letting the summer go by without grubbing in the dirt, and I know that I have lost plants, but the garden is a neverending work in progress, and while it’s going to take more than one season of work to make up for the time I’ve lost, still it will be worth the effort.
flytrap if you want any tips to get the pommie to love you, or at least tolerate you, let me know. That also goes for whelping/raising puppies advice if needed. I am curious about your Pom, but I don’t want to make the MMP about Pomeranians. I echo Sahirrnee’s sentiments about crossing breeds responsibly, although I do not personally agree with purposely crossing breeds. I hope that this is a healthy litter and that all goes well.
The Stainless Steel Rat I remember you from a while back, I’m glad that you have found the MMP, it’s the best little corner of the Dope! Life has been and continues to be rough, but as a crusty old Bush pilot I knew up on Kodiak Island used to frequently say, it sure beats the alternative.
As swampy mentioned a very good friend passed away earlier this week. Sistah Lucy was a wonderful woman, funny, passionate and simply lovely to the bone. I miss her, and always will. Life is so fragile. Miss Lucy loved Monarch butterflies, and I will always say hello to Lucy every time I see one from here on out. I am sorry about your cousin swampy, I hope that you, family and friends are surrounded with light and love.
Nut I wouldn’t think of coming back to the MMP without chocolate love offerings for the ladies and beverages for the rest of us!
I thought it went without saying . . .
Oh Emily Happy Belated birthday. I hate being woken by the sound of construction, it’s so jarring. I hope that your day went up from your morning.
I also hate moving Sunny and feel your pain.
So Johnny L.A. has made it to the MMP, good to see you here! I have thought to respond to several of your threads, but my posts are generally thread killers so I haven’t. One of my daughters used to live in your town, and I am just down the road, and sometimes your menus in Cafe Society are awfully tempting! I hope that you get your roof taken care of before the rains really come in, so far here we have only had scattered showers. By the way, those goat’s heads can be found in the eastern half of the state.
So, my week was somber. I woke up the 6th or 7th (days run together) to no power, which gave me an immediate adrenalin rush as I had paid the bill the week before and it wasn’t even overdue! I was hollerin’ for my daughter who showed up and told me that the power wasn’t out, the water heater was leaking and the guys had the power off so they could look at it. sigh I took my a.m. handful of meds and went back to sleep. When I woke next it was to find out that the water heater is toast and the soonest I can have hot water on tap again is Thursday, maybe. Tonight I had a wash with water heated on the stove poured by the pitcherful out of a five-gallon bucket and was totally reminded of Larsen Bay and winters in the village when the water would freeze and I had to hike to bring water home from the creek, and bathing myself and the kids out of the same kind of set up!
Like the song says, “Life ain’t always beautiful, but it’s a beautiful life”.
Happy Sunday friends. A new week is about to dawn.
