The Labor Day MMP

Morning all. The Granite guys with my counter-tops have just arrived, and the tile folks are expected shortly, so progress is being made. Waiting for 9am to go out and mow the yard, since I’ll be busy most of the Saturday with soccer stuff and rain is forecast for Sunday (Moanday is when they pick up the grass clippings, and I don’t like to have them sitting out front fermenting in the heat and rain for a week).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIDGET!!!

Sunny, it’ll all come together at the last minute; at least that’s been my motto through many moves. Good luck.

Sticky Buns, “pinching and scratching”?? Exactly what are you doing and does your mate know about it?:dubious:

Happy Midget Day to you, too.

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY
EMILY!!!

Other than that some puttering and adulting. Hunter Ed tomorrow and we’re working Kennywood Sunday. With the rain of the remnants of the storm predicted for this weekend it could end up an easy day.

Happy Birthday Emily!!!

Have fun everyone shooting things, roller coasting, playing instruments, ce-menting, eating, dog parking, feeding mosquitoes, watching football, waiting for hockey, and all the good stuff.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

That is all!

Lawn mowed and new granite countertops installed. They look pretty good if I do say so myself (and I do). Tile guys are working on the shower and bathroom floor, and just maybe the work gets completed next week on schedule. We’ll see what Murphy has in store…

Soccer practice this afternoon then “coach 3/referee 1” tomorrow. Sunday is my day of collapse/rest.

I had to run out and shut my car windows, then I heard thunder. So it begins…

Still got an hour anna half to go.

Happy Birthday Midget

So tis Firday finally but of course I have that pesky half day tomorrow to irk. Hubby is coming home tomorrow from his trip to California. His friend who is getting the dental implants did real good and says he is not even in pain.

I am thinking I shall cut out a bit early today cause I can. I did two interviews this morning and one candidate is perfect so I only have one more to do on Moanday and I already know I don’t want to hire that person. The application he filled out looks like a 4 year old wrote it. The date is even wrong on there. He dated today’s date as Sept the 16th. SMH

I will have Sunday and Moanday off so am looking forward to that. Right now I am off to the Pubic Store to get a few things to take home. Since everyone else is having burgers tonight I think I will too. Plus a salad to make it all healthy. Right Swampy?

Howdy Y’all! I spent some quality time at the cee-mint pond. Lookin’ stormish over toward the southwest and hearin’ some faint thunder rumbles so a good time to not be in water, I reckon. Butters the addition of sallit or the addition of lettuce and tomato make burgers healthy. As a general rule, one can have chawklit chip cookies and ice cream for sup as long as one eats a sallit first. Sallit always makes the meal healthy.

Happy Birthday, Midget!!

Make sure you do something for you today!

Butters, that interview sound like a real winner.

We paid the downpayment for the new furnace today. Ugh. Either Romeo or I would need to take a day off so the technicians could work, and I happened to be taking a half day in a couple weeks because Juliet Jr. has a half-day of school. I’m going to take a full day off that day… but it means that we have no air conditioning or furnace until September 28. It’s totally doable, but we need to be careful about opening windows (keeping them open when it’s hot and closing them when it’s cool). My husband left two windows open all night last night and it was in the upper 50s in the house this morning. I opened all the curtains so we can get some greenhouse heating during the day. Here’s to hoping there’s no unseasonable freezes between now and September 28!

Home, tahred, stahving. **FCD **and I are going to go out for dinner. Not sure where, but out for sure. I want lobster, but I don’t want the expense of lobster, so I won’t be having lobster. Beyond that, we shall see.

Pellets will be delivered on Moanday - yay! And that sums it all up.

It’s a bit of a gloomy day today.
Looks like it’s going to storm any time now.
Bit of a bitchy one too.

Ripple bugged me to go out and feed the skeeters, but he didn’t want to stay out long because it is humid. The cat came by to sit with us. He is definately losing weight, he is even getting a waistline. I’ll keep an eye on him about the weight loss, but I think he is okay. He is active and still a pest when he wants attention.

Last music lesson was about the day the music died, the death of Buddy Holly and Richie Valens (I don’t know why they left out the Big Bopper) Elvis going off to war, Jerry Lee Lewis marrying his 13 your old cousin. Did you know he is Jimmy Swaggart’s cousin? (also Mickey Gilley) I sure that made for some interesting family reunions.

This lesson is on Dick Clark, American Bandstand, The Payola Scandal, Chubbie Checker, Bobbie V, Fabian, Leslie Gore, Connie Francis, Annette Funicello, Brenda Lee, Paul Anka, Neil Sedaka, and Carol King.

One day I will post all the interesting little tidbits, like Ray Charles changing the lyrics of gospel songs to create rhythm and blues songs. Quite scandalous for the time. I can’t remember the name of the man (okay Eddie Bond) who told Elvis he had no talent and he should stick to driving a truck for a living. Ha! Bet he was kicking himself in the ass for a long time.

It is an interesting class.

We have supped. We had cheezeburgers with lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles as toppers. Thus we had four veggies so it was extra, special healthy. Fries were good as well.

Sari that guy did not deserve a deep fried peanut butter and 'nanner sammich. I have never done or had such a thing. I prefer my peanut butter and 'nanner sammich to be raw.

I think I would not eat a peanut butter and 'nanner sammich raw, deep fried, or any other way.
It sounds horrible.

The only veggie on my son’s burgers is ketchup.
I make them for him. Once in a while I’ll have one, but they are not my favorite dinner.

I’ll make hamburger soup tomorrow, I didn’t feel like cutting up veggies tonight.
I’m not hungry anyway, but I have some pork chops thawing in the fridge so I can fry one up if and when I get hungry.

Starting to thunder here.

We went to the Chaptico Deli for supper - **FCD **got assorted sides, I got the rockfish dinner, daughter got sketties, SIL got ribs dinner. All have happy tummies.

Time to assume the crochet position.

Happy birthday emily!

I absolutely do not envy you the task of moving sunny.

Irked, grocery shopped, took Nelson to the dog park where he got to play with one of his corgi buds, hit the Captain up for supper and chillin’.

It’s been thundering and the rain is pretty steady. Guess the laundry will go in the dryer tomorrow.

I’s tahred and I hates the stoopit spell-fixer on this tablet. It’s my right to make up words if I want to. Dammit.

Got to my dad’s house about midday. Was out for about 2 hours in a clonazepam-induced nap.

I’ve had too much clonazepam lately. Maybe I should try something else tonight. I do have some codeine that hasn’t expired yet. I forget if that’s good for sleep.

Happy Birthday Midget!!!
And hope you get some sleep.
and my team won at trivia at the VFW again.

Well, they got the roof off. Someone had used ship-lath instead of plywood. The contractor was going to put plywood over it, but it was deteriorated; so they pulled off the ship-lath. There’s no roof over that part of the house. Whoever originally built it used a hundred eleventy-thousand nails, so the two guys working on the roof spent all day pulling them and still didn’t finish.

And then it started raining.

They have blue tarps nailed over the framework. Water is dripping into the house from a part that’s not under the part of the roof that’s being worked on. I have a bucket under the drips. It looks like there will be a few hours Saturday when it’s not raining. I hope the guys can come back and put the plywood down. They also have the tar paper. But the shingles won’t be delivered until Monday. Showers an rain expected every day for the next week. :frowning:
