Where did they get all those little mini Oceanic airliners?
Maybe that is why they steal children. They get them to go up into the cockpit and get little model airplanes from the pilot!
Jimmy, do you like movies about gladiators?
From all of the Kate’s on the parallel universe islands…
Ha! I love you guys. You’re like the message board I never had.
That’s an interesting point. It could be something simple. After all, Claire was drugged up so a few simple questions would probably have her telling them all sorts of stuff. Or she could have mentioned the song earlier to someone as being importnant to her and the baby. I’m not sure this is actually a mystery.
However.
I do think it was meant to give us a general creepy feeling, which may be enough for the writers to fudge a bit. It may even have been a “false” part of her memory that was folded into her actual memory. Or the smokey memory beast may have been at work on Claire.
My own best guess is that the Others do have some knowledge of the Losties and this was an advance clue regarding it. But the whole questions is very vague. I’m going to keep this question on the back burner until we have some stronger evidence of something weird going on.
Well, if I got a vote, I’d want to get strung up someplace where a Lostaway would find me first, rather than the CFL… it does kind of beg the question, if the Others are jungle ninjas, how the hell did CFL catch one with the oldest trap in the book short of a pit? Has he been planted?
I think there is definitely enough real or circumstantial evidence to ask the question of whether the others knew the Losties before they were on the island.
It still may be too speculative for our tastes, but it they have definitely laid the groundwork for it.
Exactly.
I must have missed it. What’s the answer here?
-Kris
Related to that, perhaps as a separate question, is : Is there more than one group of Others?
Also, I propose that #35, IRT the rising tide, be removed, since I believe it has been established that the producers had to move the location shoot for some sort of logistical reason. That is, they couldn’t keep the gigantic fuselage on the beach in Hawaii forever. Thus, this isn’t a true island mystery (and even if it is, nobody seems to care) and more just an accepted Act of Og.
Number of minutes on the countdown clock.
I will definitely include some version of that in the re-write of 17.
I was prepared to remove this one last season, but then I discovered that it was referenced in the diary entries on ABC’s Lost webpage. I figured if it was important enough to be mentioned in two seperate places, there may actuallt be an answer on screen. But it has been a really long time since it was mentioned so I’m all for a review. Personally, I’m again leaning towards removing it unless anyone else can make a case otherwise.
There has been some speculation that the rise of the tides relates to the island being mobile. I’d leave it there for a while.
Oh… that’s it?
Well, I knew that. But who would have asked “What’s the significance of the sum of Hurley’s numbers” until we discovered the clock?
I guess the question was only inserted after that episode?
-FrL-
Actually, the question was asked in reference to the big weird mural on the wall inside the hatch. The number 108 is prominently displayed and people wondered about it’s significance.
Can I get a “Hey” and a “Ho”? New episode tonight.
I’ve updated the list to include recent discussion. Of special note is question 17 which has been rewritten to specifically ask who the Others are. This has resulted in seperating the question about the whispering - thus question 78.
I am considering dropping quesion 57 as it seems redundant with question 69 and 69 is more direct. Any input on this one is, as always, appreciated.

Why did the blast doors close?
Who put the writing on the doors, and is it legitimate, or just more crazy “108” mural drawing? It looked like the Dharma logo, but I have a bad memory for that kind of thing.
I’m beginning to see what happened to Locke’s legs, but we’re not looking for predictions here…
Was Henry Gale alone on his balloon, or was the wife part true? If so, where’s Mrs. Gale?
You know, the more I think about last night’s episode, the more I think some questions were raised that will never be answered. And I don’t mean that as a criticism. I’ll use you’re questions Ethilrist to explain what I mean.
I think we can be reasonably sure the doors closed as a part of the proceedure surrounding the food drop.
You see, I don’t know if we’ll ever get an exact detailed description of the food drop proceedure. It’s probably not that important and I don’t know if the writers are going to go into that kind of detail on something like that. Better to leave the clues there and assume the audience is smart enough to put them together on thier own. Plus that kind of exposition can get tedious. I do think we’ll get specific explanations on more important issues, but I don’t know about this kind of thing.
However, this is exactly the kind of thing that would fit well in another orientation film and that explanation could easily give us clues to other things.
I’m overthinking this aren’t I?
Anyway - that one goes in.
Legit? The thing was a big fat glowing clue in neon colors? Literally. What more do you want? I’m unsure if the question of who wrote it is that significant. We know Des’ partner (I forget his name) explored the island so he’s the obvious answer which may be enough. Let me think on this one.
Now this one I know I’m leaving out for now. Our “Henry Gale” needed to explain the grave by the balloon so he invented the wife. Until I have evidence of an actual wife, I’m leaving this one alone.
I thought this one has been answered. The producers have said that they were paying too much to set up and remove the “wreckage” on the beach set, so they wrote in a scene that the ocean level rose and the water covered the wreckage.
Who’s responsible for the food drop?
Is Anthony Cooper the real James Sawyer?
