The Start of The MMP

Had a strange day.

Preteen drama on the school bus culminated in a 10yo girl calling my husband and accusing my 9yo of trying to off the smallest girl. We don’t know how the child got ahold of hubby’s phone number, and apparently her mama didn’t know that child was calling a 50yo male stranger. Very concerning. Have spoken with the bus driver, who is also concerned. Conference call with the assistant principal in the morning. 0/10. Hate it.

And hubby accused me of making up an ingredient. Daughter had girls club meeting tonight. As is our wont, we went out for dinner with Littlest Miss during her sister’s meeting. Hubby chose a rather homey meat and three restaurant tonight, and ordered a chicken casserole that he really enjoyed. Asked me to taste, and I analyzed ingredients. He said cream of mushroom soup. I said no - combination of cream of chicken and cream of celery. “There’s no such thing as cream of celery soup!” Dude.

Weather is stupid here. Monday was barefoot and short sleeves. Tuesday dawned warm and rainy. Now it’s a little past midnight on Wednesday and I have the water pipes dripping ahead of the first freeze of the season. I think I have to buy sweaters for the short-haired dogs.

Mandatory Excel training today. Pretty basic stuff, that even I knew! The company bought lunch, but I’m not eating carbs and a sandwich, fruit, a roll, and a cookie wouldn’t do it for me. I resolved to get a Cobb salad from Trader Joe’s.

Here’s the hitch: The training started at 0900. Plenty of time. Only it was raining, it’s the first commuting day with a toll in the 99 tunnel (which I don’t use, but the toll put more people on the non-tolled freeway), and there were some wrecks. The sign in Everett said Seattle (20 miles away) would take 125 minutes to get to… at 0708. I was not the only one affected by the Charlie-Foxtrot on the roads. Needless to say, I did not get my salad. Fortunately, I had a small tin of tuna and some nuts in my desk, and some cheese in the fridge. And a three-serving Monster Ultra Zero, of course.

After the Excel training, we had ‘class pictures’. The president wanted photos of the staff, so he hired a photographer.

I got very little work done.

Lacunae Matata, tell your husband I made a casserole with cream of celery soup two weeks ago. It definitely exists.

Johnny LA, I had no idea they were putting a toll on the tunnel. Great: take something that helps with our horrendous congestion problem and make it less feasible. If I had to make that commute, I wouldn’t be a very nice person.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 32 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (partly moony?) with a predicted high of 53 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The first cold day of the season here. Today is lay in provision day and deal with [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden duties over to the church house. I think sup shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread just cause it’s easy and I feel a lazy comin’ on this afternoon.

Peaches hope all goes well with the conference call. Want to blow hubby’s mind? Tell him of the existence of cream of bacon soup.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas, alack, bother of all bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. I shall even have to don  a warm jacket.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I think I need to check my credit reports. Someone bought a Toyota Highlander at the local dealer, but somehow my name and email ended up on the sale. I’ve been getting emails from the dealer and from Toyota congratulating me on the purchase and asking for my opinion. Last night, I emailed the dealer - with the VIN that was in one of the emails - and asked them to figure out what was going on and to knock it off. What’s especially odd is that the email isn’t a common one like gmail or yahoo and I’ve never encountered anyone else who uses that particular freebie. Weird.

Of course, maybe someone bought one for me and they’re going to leave it in my driveway with a big red bow… Except I don’t want a Highlander, dammit! :stuck_out_tongue:

Roxy is back with her sitter today and I told Jen to call me if she needed me to fetch Roxy. I can always make up hours this weekend.

It’s in the 20s here, but at least the roads were dry. So there’s that.

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cold 19, feels like 12, degrees outside, not as bad as the 5 degrees WetOne had to endure, but bad enough. Today is daycare day so no park. I wanted to go a bit later but they are determined it is time to go NOW!
The back gate was open this morning and I don’t know if I didn’t close it tight yesterday morning or if somebody else opened it.

Weird thing to happen** FCM**, and now I’m wondering about a letter I got in the mail yesterday about my application for the loan on my truck. I’ve had the truck for well over a month, I already have the financing, so why am I getting something now?

One more piece of shit to add to the to do list.
I’m thinking of taking the morning off irk so I can concentrate on returning phones calls and fixing stuff that is messed up.

I wonder what time CVS opens, I can pick up my scripts after I drop the dogs off, while the truck is still warm. Easier to get them too while the little shit isn’t in the truck. Every time the truck stops moving she starts whining and patting me with her paw because we should be moving. Worse than a kid with the ‘are we there yet?’

Been up for an hour or more. Slept like a rock. My back is still very sore. I think I could do my stretches and work it out but I never asked about excercise.
Oh, crappola, the impeachment hearings are gonna be on live. If I start watching I’ll be addicted. Not sure if I care to jump in that rabbit hole.
Record low temps here. My outdoor thermometer said 17°F. The news said 19•.
Doggies lasted about 5 min. Did their business and came in and laid down the hearth rug.
Good morning y’all. Where gloves. Moisturize .indoor heat dries out the skin.

Morning all. A brisk 19F here in N. Ali-bama, supposed to get to 46F this afternoon. Need to visit the dentist about my missed appointment and think I’ll pick up a couple of sweatshirts at Wally’s (the two I’ve relied upon for years are getting a bit ratty…)

Hey Moooooooommm, my most loved car was a Toyota Highlander (2003-2010). But yeah, check things out, smells like a scam to me.

Peaches, as swampy illustrates, Campbell’s is likely to cream anything and make it a soup…and people will buy it.

Flyboy, ah, the joys of big city traffic…and useless ‘training’.

OK, need to consume a big bowl o’Cheerios before the milk goes bad. All y’all take care.

Mooooom, since my Camry smells like an ashtray, I’ll be happy to take the Highlander off your hands. I don’t even need a B.A. bow.

Brain break… I hate doing drawings of weldments.

Forgot to mention - we got our replacement credit cards yesterday - YAY! So when I get home, I get to change all the accounts that are paid by credit, including the ones I just changed to pay by debit while waiting for the new card. Convenience can be a pain sometimes…

To answer the OP I will be happy to accept any new car bow or not.

Fine then. I 'll just talk to myself. I forgot I have a lunch date. I was thinking today is Tuesday. The diner we are going to has an excellent patty melt. Or is it pattie melt?

Until then I shall try to busy myself for an hour. Stay warm ya’ll…

Alaskan Way Viaduct - Tolling the SR 99 Tunnel - wsdot

Almost four hours to get to the orifice yesterday. :frowning:

(And three hours to get home. It’s only 115 miles!)

I have a stomachache. I have to eat gluten leading up to my endoscopy next week. And I also have a cold at the moment, but I hope it’ll get better.

Lunch break!

I’m doing some revisions for Baby Engineer - he’s doing a project upgrade to designs that were done when he was in 6th grade!!! It’s not a difficult task, but tedious, and he has 2 weeks to get the drawings done. Fun!!

That’s why I get the big bucks! (I crack me up!!)

Irk is slow, so I am bored, but I can be sure that as soon as I start to do something, I will get a call.
Probably should have taken the morning off.

I got two of the 7 calls I need to make done. Got my account set up with the vet’s office so I can order their meds online and have them delivered. I wonder if that will include Adam’s pills, so I don’t have to go to CVS to get them.
Also got the dishes done, a second load of laundry in the washer, and finally remembered to charge my toothbrush.

I need to pick my health care plan for next year. I already picked one and the stupid website told me to confirm it, but because it was before November 1, I couldn’t. I’d better do that before the system picks one for me.

Didn’t pick up my prescriptions though. There is an option to have them delivered, I’m going to look into doing that.

Well, the out of doors errands are completed. Three new sweatshirts have been procured at Wally’s Place, and they had 2-liter Pepsi bottles for $1.25 each, so I picked up some, and then stopped at the Dollar Tree to see if they had the X-large mugs available (I broke one of mine). They did so I got three for $3…these are thick, 30-oz mugs, so it’s a steal IMHO.

Oh…also have a dentist appointment for tomorrow at 1pm–Please help me remember…

Sari, I’ve got Medicare (A&B) and Blue Cross for the supplemental and prescription costs, don’t plan on making any changes. Hope you don’t need to use it much.

FCM, so the drawings were done in 2011?? And yeah, I’ve been lucky, several years now without any credit card fraud.

Butters, I’ve always spelled it Patty Melt (don’t care for grilled onions so I don’t eat them).

Hang in there, Midget. This too shall pass (one way or another…)

No medicare yet for me MetalMouse, but I do have obamacare since I am self employed. Every year I have to pick a plan off what is offered on the exchange, and if I don’t pick one the system will pick one for me, generally something close to what I had.
Which may or may not be okay with me.
Since my income changed considerably this year, the plans I’m being offered are different.
It gives me a headache to deal with, because the website is garbage.

Debating buying a new coat or just asking for one for Christmas. I don’t really need a new coat, but I want one with more pockets, and pockets that have zippers. Then I don’t have to worry about my keys falling out when I pull out my gloves or poop bags.

Indeed it is spelled Patty Melt on the menu. It was tasty. Back at irk for a while just killing time. Tahred. I didn’t sleep well last night. I don’t think I even went to sleep before 4 am and up again at 7:30. I shall sleep good tonight.

Love me a patty/ie melt. Extra grilled onions, and make the cheese really melty. I assume you’ll get fries.
