Trying to keep fussie-pants Cats warm. I’m supplementing the heater with the woodstove. Cat’s want to lay underneath it. I keep pulling them out. Putting wood in that’s burning like paper. Mr.Wrekker brought it in for me. It must be left from last year, very dry.
All this bending is killing me.
I’ve not put a fire in the fireplace. Too far to carry the wood and its bigger logs.
Think I’ll make soup.
I rarely quote myself but ---------- IT WORKED!
Honest to God in the 7.2 miles to work I only saw three other vehicles and those were probably professionally driven trucks. I may have to stand on my porch and shake my cane at the world in general more often. ![]()
But they can’t – they just plain can’t. It gets a little better as winters get warmer and it snows less and as the season progresses and the worse of them crash and give up but --------- I don’t think I’ve ever been in a place where the snow driving is this bad.
So multi-quote doesn’t work anymore? Or it doesn’t work in win 10?
Okay. since I have the short term memory of a gold fish, I’ll just have to deal.
Well, the replacement router is finally working, about as well as a freebie can be expected to work. I’m starting to remember why I bought my own 3 years ago.
Got the airbag(s?) replaced in the Scion yesterday. Funny, I didn’t even think to ask about the passenger side bag. Maybe it wasn’t part of the recall. ![]()
Bi-Mart closed a bunch of their pharmacies this week, with very little notice. Like 5 days. And we had to find out about it on the news. . They managed to robocall me every time my prescriptions were ready, but they couldn’t have their robot call all the pharmacy customers a couple weeks ahead of time to tell us we needed to make other arrangements? Bastids!
I can understand doing that if they’re not making a profit, but to do so without giving anybody any adequate advanced notice?:mad:
Anyway, they transferred everybodies prescriptions over to Walgreens and we’re supposed to go there and sort out what we want to do about it. I’ve used Walgreens pharmacy before and was happy with them so I’m good. Anyway I stopped in on my way home from the eyeball doctor’s and checked that everything was transferred okay and said Hi to my friend who still works there, though everyone else was unknown to me.
I want to make chicken fajitas for dinner tonight, but I need to go back out and go to the store again, as soon as my pupils are back to normal. I thought I remembered buying bell peppers the other day, but forgot that I used them to make taco salad, so now I need some more, or I need to plan something else for dinner tonight. ![]()
The chickie is still frozen anyway.
Maybe I can find some nice pig meat. I’ve got a new recipe for chili verde in the insant pot I want to try out. maniacal laughter
I ain’t watching no damn impeachment hearings. I just know the publicans will try to turn it into a circus, and I hate having to resist the urge to throw things at the TV.
Does anybody remember the TV bricks they sold many years ago?
Had my annual diabetes checkup this week and all was good. On the downside, I told my doc a year ago that my back pain seemed worse. He gave me a handout for exercises. Over the course of the past year, the pain has gotten worse, usually after doing any sort of lifting, and it wasn’t like muscle ache, but rather sharper. So this year, I told him that I wanted x-rays done to rule out what it isn’t and possibly find out what’s going on.
My assumption was that my arthritis has finally made its way to my spine. Turns out I’m right. Of course there’s really no cure for this, and it will likely get worse over time. I’ve scheduled PT, so I’ll see if that provides any help.
At least it’s not something like cancer, and it’s certainly not as serious as some problems other Dopers have. Nevertheless, I’m not looking forward to losing some mobility, nor to the requirement to manage the pain.
I have several in excellent condition (due to how little TV I watch) but when it comes to political broadcasts I prefer https://nerf.hasbro.com/en-us/product/nerf-ultra-one-motorized-blaster-high-capacity-drum-25-official-nerf-ultra-darts-the-farthest-flying-nerf-darts:D65B1AB5-782E-49F7-87BC-32F3D722116D
Mooooom, I feel your pain on the card changes.
ruble, have you ever seen Nashvillians driving in the first dusting of snow? What we got the other night was less than 1/4", but it delayed school for two hours or outright cancelled it.
bumba, I think it’s a Windows10 thing. My solution is a small white board and a dry erase marker near the desk.
Not quite as cold today, but still freezing when I got up. I think I’m going to order some booties for Nelson when I order dog food next week. With me in a red coat and him in green, we look like Santa and her elf. :pGetting things prepped at irk to take off at the end of the month. I think the old bat is running scared.
Howdy Y’all! Been a day. Another HVAC unit is actin’ up at the church house and two of the Toro zero turn mowers got stolen sometime between Moanday (when they were there) and this mornin’. So I got to talk with the county police (really nice guy showed up). There was a walkie-talkie layin’ on the ground, so maybe there are some fingerprints. I’ll give ‘em until Firday mornin’ and then make a call to see if anything is known. Be nice if whoever(s) get caught and we can get the mowers back. Not holdin’ my breath, however. I was able to provide make, model, serial numbers and all that stuff. Anywho, dealt with that, hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can (only one this week) all the way down to where it goes for pickup, got back to da cave, chilled for a while, then made sup which got et. That was my day. Rah.
Who the heck steals from a church?
Abed and hoping I can actually sleep tonight. Been in zombie mode all day. Tomorrow is already Thursday thank goodness.
Y’all stay dry and warm.
swampy, maybe iffen they catch the thievin’ bastiges, they will sentence them to community service of a season of mowing the church house lawn.
Finally got through. /cold and windy today.
{{{{hugs}}}}
Well, there can be only one. ![]()
Feel better, and good luck!
Welcome home, Beck!
Bumba multi-quote should still work. Post your issue in ATMB and they’ll help you trouble shoot it.
Well, frick. I get they have to pay for the tunnel. But up to $4.25 (peak traffic, no GoPass) for such a short ride is ridiculous. And you skip only one traffic jam.
I can’t imagine having to spend seven hours commuting. You have my sympathy.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 49 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 52 with rain this afternoon, tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night. We shall see. The radar map shows all kinds of green stuff headed this way. This mornin’ I have an appointment at nine a.m. to do the semi-annual how my meds are workin’ with the doc. I foresee no changes except maybe one where I get rid of one med, hopefully. I figure the less I have to take, the better. Chili/cheese/slaw dawgs and fries are on the menu for sup. Fart fest to follow.
{{{Midget}}} forgot to say yestiddy, but hope you’re better soonest.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and much bother, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Le sigh.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
The vast majority of my commute is along MD 5, and except for the stretch passing thru Leonardtown, it’s one lane in each direction with very few places to pass. And today I got stuck behind someone whose speed varied from 40 to 55, tending to the slower side most of the time. And as it happened, that same person turned off 5 the same place I do, then took the same next 2 turns that I take to get to the sitter’s. Thus beginneth my day. Dammit.
Plus it’s low 20s out there and I’ve got a low tire pressure light - most likely because of the cold. Not amused. Not at all.
Happy Thursday, I guess.
Howdy. Happy Thursday. We have rain scheduled for tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night. Bring it on I say.
Irk. Waiting on my coffee to be ready.
Blurf
Happy Thorsday!
Home from the park early, I couldn’t take it anymore, my toes were freezing.
I have heavier socks and snow boots coming today.
It’s warmed up to 30 outside, supposed to get up to 45.
Fixing the fence is on the agenda for today, the dogs got over into the neighbor’s yard first thing this morning. I keep telling my son how to fix it but he won’t listen to me.
Also, putting a desk together, making the calls I didn’t get to yesterday, and a thorough vacuuming of the ENTIRE house.
My son needs to find a place where his team can do the final community service assignment. He keeps putting it off and his co-leader isn’t saying anything about it, so I am on my son’s ass to get it done. I told him I’d help him find places to call. I don’t even know who to call, the several places I looked up require training classes before you can volunteer. One of the food banks might be a good choice with Thanksgiving coming. It doesn’t take a whole lot of training to stuff food into bags.
Sari, procrastination is one of my sins too; but I’ve usually thought it through and can manage when the crunch comes; hope Sah-son can do the same.
FCM, got my low pressure tire light last Saturday, filled them up (air cost a $1.00 here) and so far, so good.
Swampy, sorry to hear about the thievery; strange things to take, I don’t know of a Black Market for mowers…
Cookie, hoope now that the Dr. is listening and knows the proble, they can do something about it; chronic pain is no joy.
Bumba, glad the pharmacy switch went well.
Dentist visit in about 4 hours. Supposed to reach 50F today and into the 60’s next week.
Still want to mow the yard one more time this year…still thinking about it…
**MetalMouse **- we’ve got a compressor (actually 2 of them) for FCD’s shop so I can pull my car up there and fill the tires. Plus most of the tire places around here will check/fill your tires for free, but I feel like that’s kinda cheezy… I’ll take care of mine tomorrow.
CREO is being a bitch, so my productivity is fairly low this morning. Glad it’s my Firday…
Congradumalate me; I is starting a new career. I’m going into the lawn care business. Wasn’t really planning on it but I got a really good deal on a Toro zero turn mower; two of 'em as a matter of fact. :o
A heathen.
::Looks askance at Red.:: :eek:
Need to go pick up ma cah; it got new earl & an adjustment to the timing belt; all for < $60.
But first - lunch.
‘Spidey’ you’re so bad!!
Awakened way too early. Cats!
Puppers need a long walk. I cannot walk very far w/o a burning pain in my flank. I sat on a stump and rolled a ball for them. The dummies (:)) don’t know how to play fetch, but they like to watch the ball roll. I have to get up and go get the ball to re-roll it:smack:
This business about tires and cold weather is new to me. Big Wrek has checked all the vehicle tires. I learn a new thing everyday.
I got an email from my kidney Doctor. I go in Monday for the consensus. I refuse to worry/think about it til then.
Y’all have a safe and warm.day. (:))
