The Start of The MMP

Whiskeypalians?! Eek! I shall warn the children!

Weather is yucky today. Had to drive the wee Lacunae to the bus stop so they wouldn’t be soaked and frozen and covered in mud to start the day. Glad I did, because the bus was predictably late. (I think my county still has the honor of having the most miles of unpaved roads of any in Georgia, and wet red clay ain’t no joke. Too many people don’t know how to put it in granny gear and stay in the ruts.)

Plans for the day include finding LilyKat’s glasses, drinking more coffee, and eating my leftovers for lunch. Had the expensive pizza delivered last night, and Mr. M ain’t getting the other half of my calzone! It’s slap-your-mama good!

I haz a friend that grew up in central/north Joisey. Went to college in 'boken (in sight of NYC). IOW, she knows what good pizza is.

Eventually she took a job near Lancaster, PA. First day she wanted to treat her staff to pizza lunch so she asked for recommendations on where to order good pizza from. Staff told her Pizza Slut. She laughed & said, “No, really.” They replied the same. She asked again, they replied the same, again. She cried. :frowning:
This may be my last day on Earth (more details later…I hope), but if not, I get to whomp the pupper tonight.
Speaking of which they had a service dog training organization at the brewpub last night. One woman (intentionally) dropped a quarter on the (flat, cement) floor. Service dog picked it up with it’s mouth & handed it to her. Pretty freakin’ amazing!

Mornin’ glories!
Popped right up when the 'Meezers started yowling. After a lovely breakfast they proceeded to the hearth rug for their toilette.
I went back to bed. Read awhile. No sleepytime was forthcoming. I’m feeling much more perky and painfree, so I got up. I’ve eaten my oatmeal with raisins. Cleaned my bathroom. Walked about with the dogs. I didn’t push it. Now, of course, I’m sleepy.:smack:
I wanna get out a bit this afternoon. Not sure if I can.
Y’all have a good day.
(:))

Happy Firday!

Freakin cold outside. I lasted an hour or so at the park and came home early again today.
Ripple had been ready to leave, the only time he jumps on me is when we are at the park and he wants to go home. He likes to go, patrol the perimeter, say hi to his friends, and go home. Echo could live there.
Fortunately, when I say let’s go home, she follows Ripple to the gate.
I am very thankful I am not one of those people who have to chase their dogs around the park to catch them before they can leave.

Supposed to get up to 52 today, so I should do some stuff outside while I can.

MetalMouse, I don’t know what to do with my son sometimes. He has a co-leader for this project, but he doesn’t seem to be too on the ball either. On the other hand, my son was going to write the paper for the second assignment and I told him no. This is a team effort and he wrote the paper for the first one. He’ll happily do anything as long as it doesn’t involve talking to people. So maybe he should ask the co-leader to find a place, and he can write all the crap about the objectives and purpose. He is a good writer, and the woman who wrote the last paper asked him to proofread and correct anything in her paper, and told him what a good writer he is.

Back from the body shop. They told me to park in the sun so the adhesive can cure. It’s overcast, and even if it was bright sunny, there are still too many leaves on the trees for my car to get much sun. But it’s out there anyway.

Roxy did really well while we were there, but then there wasn’t enough time to get too bored. Now she’s playing with her blocks but acting tired. I’ll try to hold off another half hour before putting her down to nap. Then, who knows…?

Mooooom, I find Pizza Slut and Domainios both have battery acid for an ingredient of their tomato sauce. Of course, with dialysis, tomato sauce is on the naughty list, I have learned that in some cases, Alfredo or pesto sauce can be swapped in.

Howdy. Irking as usual. I spent part of the morning running around getting stuff for my clerk whose birthday is today and she is 20. I got a card, cash and some balloons. Tis all I am gonna do.

TGIF everyone.

Morning all. Slept in again, got most of today’s list done yesterday so nothing much on the agenda. sammiches and soup soon, it’s 45F heading for 51F today. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow when I referee.

Have never gotten a flu shot before (and never gotten the flu, either), but given my advanced (66) years and such, I think I’ll get it now–or Moanday at least. Just debating on going to the Dr.'s orfice or getting it at Kroger or Walgreens or any other place advertising ‘free’ shots.

Will probably then catch the flu this season…

FCM, no comment on the pizza, I am probably one of maybe 3-4 Americans who don’t eat pizza at all, so nothing to compare it too. If your stomach is happy, then it was a good choice.

Sounds like you’re healing nicely, Beck. Take care now.

Spidey, if it is your last day on earth, can I have your car?

Peaches, better you than me, dirt roads (especially muddy dirt roads) and I don’t get along well.

Red, I usually go to a particular store (used to be under a different name that has slipped my memory, now a Pep Boys) for tires. Usually look at the 50,000 mile ones, don’t need the real long-lasting ones as I tend to get rid of cars after 70-80,000 miles (I drive less than 10,000 miles/year these days). Probably do it this spring.

Nava, hope the grandboss can work something out–sounds like a miserable work experience (ruble can sympathize).

All y’all have a good day now. Need to forage for sustenance here.

You’re finally going to … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxyqHkOA00s ?

Which reminds me ----- we got to get our order in.

Now I’m sitting here wondering why it might be Spiderman’s last day on earth. What if it really is and Spidey doesn’t get back here to tell us why?

The oncologist didn’t get mad when I told him I’d gone off the aromatase inhibitor. He switched me to a different kind. Maybe third time will be the charm. I couldn’t get radiation and didn’t need chemo, so this is my only line of defense. So I’ll be walking 1.5 miles to the drugstore. No problem.

I’m not sleeping well and don’t know why not. Lupus has been a good wolf and gone back under the bed–well, he peeks out, but he’s under there–so I’ve been able to work out. That usually does it. Not this time. No caffeine. I may have to try watching Citizen Kane. Never have stayed awake during the whole thing.

Stainless Steel Rat, you’re the only no-pizza person I’ve ever met. Is it the sauce? The cheese? The crust? I’m mystified.

nellie, mostly that I’m simply a ‘fussy’ eater and don’t care for tomato sauce (love tomatoes, however). And yes, they do make them with alfredo and other sauces, but I simply don’t like the look, or the smell, or the ‘imagined’ taste of them. Why I do not know, food prejudices are an odd thing.

Morning has been squandered, now need to work on wasting the afternoon.

Dominoes pizza isn’t too bad. They do have good crust. Don’t get their sandwiches though, they’re way overpriced.
I’ve had New York pizza, and it’s just meh. :frowning:
We had Papa Murphy’s the other night. They’re quality is going downhill.
I suppose we could start going to Dominoes again, but their website just pisses me off. I don’t want to have to order something to find out what’s on it.

That’s enough about pizza.

I need to make myself presentable. Have to go to the horsepistol in about an hour. I might have diverticulitis again. At least I hope so. They can fix that. Usually it just takes a round of antibiotics for me. This has been going on for about a month and I want it to stop!

I’ve been trying to get a flu shot without much luck. The last time I asked at Bi Mart they said it would be an hour anna half wait. Then they closed their pharmacy.
My friend at Walgreens said they’re out of the over 65 vaccine, but I could have the regular kind.
I could get it at the horsepistol, but they charge an arm and a leg.
Maybe I’ll stop at Kroger this afternoon. :dubious:

Well, I’m off.

Dominos did make major improvements a few years ago. Used to be that their boxes had more flavor. I’ve got some frozen Lou Malnati’s pizzas, which are better than pretty much any other frozen pizzas. Not as good as actually going to Malnati’s but since they’re in Chicago, that’s a bit of a trek for dinner.

I’m having a home organization quandary. I somehow have wound up with eight extra lids for a specific size storage bin. There’s actually twelve extra lids in the garage, but four bins are living topless in my pantry to corral stuff like bags of beans, cake mixes, etc. I’ve asked the house pixies to return them, but no luck yet.

Roxy had a nice, long nap, and she’s now finishing a late lunch. She seems to like peanut butter bread. Plus she had pears. yum!

I’ve nearly finished a pair of fingerless mitts for my daughter - those things make up fast!

Not sure what we’ll do for supper tonight - it kinda depends on how **FCD **feels. Poor guy is still kinda under the weather.

Oh, and I vacuumed - go me!

The dogs kept coming to the door asking me to go outside with them. Since it is fairly nice out I went out for a bit.

The cat is on the list. He was in the kitchen, staring intently at the dishwasher, in the meantime a mouse came out from behind the fridge and stole a piece of dog food from the bowl. I didn’t have anything close enough to whack it.

We usually get dominoes pizza. I detest pizza hut, and papa johns isn’t much better. We’ve tried a few other places around here and weren’t too impressed. We don’t get it often anyway since I cut back on carbs. I don’t miss it much.

I need to get some stuff done around here. Didn’t hear back from the diaper bank, and nothing from the co-leader.

*Maltese Falcon *for me.
I did a lot over the last few days, and today I am paying the toll. Akiko-pup is keeping me company whilst chewing up a toilet paper tube. She doesn’t eat them, she just likes to kill them dead.
Happy Friday everyone.

The OW made crab cakes that were quite good.

And I signed up for an extra shift tomorrow morning at O-god-30 that I’m actually looking forward to.

See ya’ll later; I need a shower and then bed time.

Another day wasted waiting for maintenance to come look at my wonky electricals. They’re usually pretty prompt, but apparently office holiday decorations trump actual maintenance. I’m going to head over there to inquire. My neighbor across the hall has had electrical issues since moving in three years ago, just before I got here. They were still building other units and in a great rush. Mine have just started, though, so maybe it’s one of Beckdawrek’s mouses seeking greener pastures.

Where’s Spidey?

One can’t be too careful about toilet paper tubes. Let’s give them the gunsel.

Mooooom, not a frozen pizza, but a take and bake, Mama Crozi’s from Aldi is pretty good.

Speaking of pizza, the boss ordered pizza for our lunch today from Jet’s (a decent pie). I had a slice of the BBQ chicken-bacon and one of the Hawaiian one. I rarely eat pizza, as a meal with a carb base tends to raise my BG. I’m one of those weirdos who dislikes pepperoni on pizza or, for anything that’s heated for that matter. Thinly sliced on a cracker, yes. Pizza, no.

Fixing to go to the brew park. Gotta suit Nelson up in his little tartan tie (part of the band will be in kilts) and a coat.
