Gray, dreary, and overcast with threats of severe storms before it’s all over. I see another less-than-productive day ahead.
In fact, I might just nap when I finish my morning reads. Just so hard to get motivated.
meh. Happy Sunday.

That was the most disappointing gum ever manufactured. It tasted good for .0000005 seconds, then it turned into a squidgy wedge of squeaky rubber.
Luckily (?) the apocalyptic rain has cxl’d the afternoon event so I may get a nap later as I’s worn out. Off to the race(s) (late). This will be the first time in 30+ years it has rained on bike race Sunday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a cloudy and steamy 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 88 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon, evenin’, and tomorrow. I’ll believe it when it happens. However it does look stormy like over to the west and southwest where most of that there stuff comes from. ‘Tis also brunch Sunday over to the church house but we shall not participate. I have zero desire to make anything so we shall leave after deheathenization. Any eatin’ at da cave will involve foragin’ da fridge and/or pantry. It’s that kinda day.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Purtification for deheathenization must also occur at some point.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled.I’m off today, but it’s gonna storm all day.
And I’d root for broken #2 pencils if they could beat the Penguins.
Free Mark!
It took 2 phone calls totaling 15 minutes and multiple transfers, plus being hung up on once, to arrange for Lowe’s to haul our old dryer away. They charge $15, but it’d cost $10 for us to take it to the dump - it’s worth the extra $5 not to have to deal with that.
So, sometime on Tuesday, the new dryer will magically appear. Today, I’ll get the old dryer out of the way and disconnect its cord so we can use it on the new dryer. Then start the countdown till the washer dies, because you know it’s gonna happen…
Happy Sunday!
Looks like rain. Sah-son had everything ready to mow the lawn and it started raining. Now it looks like it stopped.
Stoopid weather.
I was up all night with the dog again. He was restless, uncomfortable, and wouldn’t lay down. I wanted to give him aspirin but he won’t take anything, not even a piece of hot dog. Trying to force aspirin in him never works, I just get a screaming dog and soggy pills.
I feel like hell.
If no one has already called dibs, I’ll start us off in the morning, k?
gotti, good choice on your bourbon.
Moooom, if you didn’t make a habit of hanging out your wash on a regular basis, I would count washer/dryer replacement as things-to-be-replaced-in-even-numbers. (A rule my dad taught me about vehicle maintenance but works for other things)
Laundry and a ride today (if it doesn’t rain). Then it’s starting a heritage album with the pics that I just picked up. I sorted them and mad a rough draft for the order, so that part’s done.
**Red **- my spousal unit suggested I buy a new set, but there’s nothing wrong with the washer, apart from some cosmetics. It works fine. And if it dies, worst case scenario has me at a laundromat if I can’t get one right away. Not a big deal. Similarly, if the dishwasher dies, I’ve got a working sink.
If it ain’t broke, don’t replace it unless you really, really want something different. That’s how I see it.
I’ve taken Gordie on tow long walks, and made Italian McMuffins for breakfast(egg with parsley, sage, and rosemary and topped with panchetta and fresh Mozzarella). I have sketti sauce simmering in the crockpot(guess it’s Italian Night at Casa Pero).
Moooommmm, I gotta see if my washer/dryer is fixable, or does it need tossing.
Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization. More of a crowd there than I expected which is a good thing. Still no rain but looks like it will show up at some point. Plus there is a Tropical Depression in the Gulf of Mexico that could cause lots of “significant weather.” We shall see. N.O.L. will be whatever. I need to do that soonish as I am commencin’ to be hongry. OYKW is foragin’ as I post.
Nappage is on the agenda for this afternoon.
Front yard got mowed, he still has to weed whack the weeds.
I was wrong about the weeds being queen anne’s lace, the flowers are similar but the leaves are totally different, so I have no idea what they are.
They are allowed in the back yard, not in the front, so they will be whacked.
Our saw got delivered today, so Sah-son can cut up the bigger branches out back. Tomorrow is trash, recycle, yard waste pick-up day.
My stomach has been a mess a morning, now it’s settling down and I’m feeling hungry.
The dog finally showed enough interest in treats so I got some aspirin in him. Now he’s snoozing away.
I’ll be making some hamburgers later, and making up some taco meat for the son.
The local press are playing it as “now we can win the cup on home ice”. These folks spin so well you would think its DC.
He’s just not used to being allowed anything stabby.
Broken pencils and you could really go on a spree!
Actually I understand the feeling; in football my favorite team is the Vikings but my second-favorite is whoever beat the Steelers last.
What? No thyme?
BTW - I hope you’re bringing me a care packing of your tastier creations this August . . . :dubious:
Alton Brown is the Thyme Lord, not me.
Maybe.
No time for what?
: smacks Flytrap with lemon basil trout :
Woo-hoo! Happy, happy! Joy, joy!
It might be worth getting a new cord. I don’t think they cost much and then you’ve got a new, safe one. Same idea as a new battery in a smoke detector.
Quiet weekend. Too hot. Too migraine. Just hiding in the dark, cool and watching tv. Nice, cuddly animals for company. Found 2 TV shows to binge: The Killjoys, and Wynnona Earp.
I am supposed to show the house to realtors starting Tuesday and I am not ready. I am hoping some house brownies will show up tonight.
