Didn’t stay long enough at the park today, Ripple is being a bit of a wild man.
I left the jug of water sitting on the table and didn’t go back to get it because yesterday everybody brought water.
Today, nobody did. He was panting and kept going to the water bowls, so I cut it short and brought him home.
That sucks Spidey However, a friend of mine just got laid off, found a new job paying $15,000 more a year, and still has severance pay left over, so I call that a win. I hope the same happens for you.
How big of a dishwasher does the church have, Swampy?
Got a long day ahead. Going in to work early, because right after work I have to go to the church to do more work. I am part of the group helping prepare the supper for after the Lenten service this evening. I am the one in charge basically. The one good thing is that all the helpers will know how my day has gone, and I will probably get out of part of the cleanup after. That is how it has gone before. Yawn, I mean blurf.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 40 Amurrkin out and clear (dark) with a predicted high of 65 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall procure provisions and intend to go in sloth mode afterward. Tonight is soup ‘n sammich over to the church house so that takes care of sup. I say sloth mode but I do need to catch up on my readin’ for CDI. Since I can do that whilst bein’ all laid back in the recliner that kinda counts as sloth.
Sari the dishwasher is just a regular household type dishwasher although it is a good one with all the bells and whistles. There is space for a commercial type dishwasher but we really don’t have a need for that.
CupCakes you have a much larger church bein’ as yours is a cathedral and all so I imagine a bigger group of folks to eat. Good on the others to take over the cleanup part. I like the fact that when we do big stuff there are folks who will volunteer to take care of cleanup.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ in public attire. Alas and alack.
Turns out it wasn’t the bulb - it was the socket. It appears one of the contacts was smashed down too far, so the light was intermittent. **FCD **pulled it up a bit, and I hope it’ll stay that way. Otherwise replacing the socket could involve replacing the wire harness… $$$ We shall see.
Roxy had a bad night - hardly slept at all. She fell asleep on the way to the sitter, but woke when I got her out of the car. She gave me such a sad face when I left her with Jen - reminded me of when I’d drop off my daughter at daycare. Nine more months and it won’t be an issue.
We’re threatened with much rain tonight and tomorrow - I hope they get the roof on today. I also hope I can stay awake - Roxy’s wakefulness overnight affected me, too. And goodness knows, I need my beauty sleep.
I’m just about ready to leave, waiting for my son to load up the truck for me. I’d like to be out of here by 10.
That should get me to friend1 by noon. I have 5 bags of books for her, we can unload them and hang out for a bit, then we’ll head out to friend2’s house. I have two boxes plus a bag of clothes for her, as well as a bag of dog toys and some food we aren’t going to eat. Ripple doesn’t like Kong toys, or the rope tug of war toys, a friend of friend2 just got a German Shepherd puppy and can probably use them. Ripple also has no interest in balls, but I’m going to take them to the dog park. After we leave friend2’s house, I’ll drive friend1 home, and then head home myself. I hope to be home by 8, but it will probably be closer to 10.
I will be glad to get all this stuff out of the house.
Ripple is going with me. I left my son a list of chores, he can get more done without ‘help’. It gets Ripple out of the house too, which he needs. We didn’t go to the park Thorsday because of the rain and he was driving both of us nuts that day.
It’s going to be a busy day. I am dreading the driving, but looking forward to hanging out with friends.
https://airshowkeywest.com/. This is the website for our air show next weekend. The weather is nice and cool this morning and I can only hope it is like this next weekend.
Last load in the dryer (I only had 2 today.) Roxy is napping. I just finished cleaning the kitchen floor. I need to vacuum, but I’ll wait till the baby is up again.
was at the store yesterday getting victuals and passed by the meat section. Got a leftover corned beef brisket. Unfortunately I had a brain fart and shoved it in the freezer. Perusing the inner tubes this morning I found one blogger who said I could cook it from frozen at 34 min per pound in the instant pot, so Ima do that tonight. I loves corned beef and the only time I get to cook it is around this time of year. Except for the ~$12/lb deli stuff, we can’t even buy it at all. (The deli stuff is very good though.)
I don’t have any cabbage though. I don’t know if I care. We have lots of taters and carrots and that’s good enough for me. I’ll see what Wifey says when she gets back from drawing nekkie people.
Good on ya, Midget. for getting a new place to live. You could get some moccasins or other soft slippers for walking around your place so’s not to irritate the landlord. When I was in college (the second time) my roomies and I lived above the landlady’s apt. She used to threaten to evict us on a regular basis for being too noisy.
My computer went wonky yesterday about noon, so I took it in to the “Geek Squad” at Best Buy, where they diagnosed a bad Graphics Card and did the replacement and testing in six hours (they had originally told me it would be Wednesday) so I got it back about 9pm last night. Working fine, but I was at the soccer fields from 7:30am-4pm today and am just looking in on the MMP.
So…
Happy beefing Bumba.
FCM, better get your track shoes on…
Sari, hope you had a good trip and a good visit with your friends.
shady, one of my soccer programs is 8-9 year old boys and keeping their attention for more that 30 seconds can be a chore.
Nut, I was like you, went to almost every class, figuring that I was paying for these ‘smart folks’ to teach me stuff, so I might as well get my money’s worth. On reflection after 40+ years, I wonder just how smart they were…
Juliet, fish and Girl Scout cookies; sounds yummy…
All y’all take care, think I am going to go take a nap now.
Howdy Y’all! Actually been back for over an hour but had other things to take care of before postin’. I know, I should do better with my priorities. Anywho, all my dirties are in the laundry room, I have showered, gone through mail and had some welcome home time with OYKW. He’s feelin’ a little under the weather due to allergies so has taken to the bed with Ben. Hope that helps him feel better poor thing. As for me, an early bedtime shall be had. I’s tahrd! It was a very intense, looooooooooong, but good two days. Also et good. We had shrimpies (boiled and fried), grilled grouper (I think it was grouper), crab cakes, N.O.T., steamed veggies, hush puppies and lemon ice box pie for sup last night. This mornin’ we had all kinds of good brekkie stuff like scrambled aigs, bacon, snausages, bizkits 'n gravy, pancakes, fruit and other stuff. N.O.L. was fried and baked chikin, mac ‘n cheese, corn, green beans, corn bread and peach cobbler. I have no desire to ingest food this evenin’.
MidgetYAAAAAAY!!! on the new digs.
MOOOOOOM now that RoxStar is up and runnin’, you will forever be tahrd.
Everybody else, I read but retained little so boos, yays, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, smooches, and how you doin’s all around as needed.
swampy, supper sounds yum. I hope that OYKW feels better soonest.
I went to NaNoCon today. The first workshop that I attended rocked, but the second wasn’t quite so good. I left after the first panel, stopped at Wendy’s drive thru for chili, a burger and salad on the way home and took Nelson on an extra long walk. Now, I have a documentary about Marie Antoinette on and it’s time to chill.
Had 2 inventorys today at work. And another in a month. And another a month after that.
[Deam Wormer]Then they’ll have a Double Secret Inventory![/Dean Wormer]
But the Canes tamed the Wild, the tailgate rocked, and I might have to pay for playoff tickets for the 1st time in 10 years.
Turns out I gave my daughter good advice. They did their taxes and they’re getting enough back to pretty much pay off their car so they can buy one without rolling the balance over. Gee, I was right… go figure!! Once they get the refunds, they’ll shop the smart way and not have to get an overpriced loan.
Yeah, I woke too early, but I had a good sleep. Roxy will be spending the day with her other grandmother and I think I may do some yard work. After while. Gonna be a slug now. Happy Sunday !!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and dark (TWPTB say clear) with a predicted high of 79 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today we shall deheathenate (I have ush duty), have N.O.L. somewhere and chill. Except, I shall be back at the church house at three p.m. as we are hostin’ our convocation’s listening session for the new Bishop search. Our current Bishop will be retirin’ May of next year and we shall elect a new Bishop in November this year at Diocesan convention. He/She will be installed as Bishop the followin’ May. Anywho, I must be there this afternoon.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
