Show me where I have beat anybody up. Or stop making false accusations. Now, I’m pretty sure that option #2 is unavailable to you, so you are better off going for #1.
I am not a lawyer, but I do a lot of contract work. The consequences for breach of contract would be defined in the contract, so we do not know what they can recoup. If they have morals clauses, I would expect them to be able to terminate the contract without having to make further payments to Tiger. Where there is anything punitive in addition is less likely.
point # 1 - I did not say that - I said -
PERCIEVED DISTINCTION - not any actual distinction - not any statement as to the abilities or competiveness of the players themselves.
As for the definition of an amatuer - I’ll stick with the simplest one - A person who engages in an art, science, study, or athletic activity as a pastime rather than as a profession.
Generally speaking - you’re not earning your living at it. Clearly it can also mean those just beginning in the sport or less skilled than others in the same sport/game.
You have been “beating him up” with your repeated attempts to chastise him for what you perceive to be a misuse of the word “amature.” He clearly agrees.
The person making false accusations is you. :smack:
It is getting better. Tiger has been connected to a doctor who supplies HGH to athletes. Tiger said he saw him for another use and of course he never used drugs. The doctor says he used HGH on himself, 5 times a day, for the last 10 years. Does he or doesn’t he only his HGH doctor knows.
How much worse can it get for Tiger now?
The press can obtain evidence of wire payments from Tiger to his concubines. Well, just alledged evidence for now, but, if true, real documentation cannot be too far away.
Don’t know if it worse, but it is definitely piling on.
There is no dispute that he was screwing a bunch of women and has for many years. The drugs are a new revelation. That case is not backed up yet but Tiger is very big and muscular. Bigger and more muscular than almost any other golfer. Once the women came out, a lot of people will jump on that story now.
And of the two - Women or Performance Drugs - Women are largely more forgivable by his fan base - while if its proven that he took performance enhancers, theirs no going back from that.
From the linked article
If true that he was wiring money, which even former governers know leaves a paper trail, that can’t help in divorce proceedings.
He may have been a professional golfer, but for covering up affairs, he’s clearly an amature.
eta
Unless he was using peformance enhancers to handle all those women, then it’s win-win!
The PED story is incredibly thin. IIRC the Doc saw Tiger once because he has a treatment to enhance the rehab for ACL injuries. He’s Canadian, so he’d have to be shipping drugs internationally to Florida, a place where Tiger could easily get them if he wanted them.
Besides, the PGA does test for illegal substances.
Just for the record, Tiger went almost 11 months without playing a PGATour event. He played Arnold Palmers event in March of 2008 until the WGC Match Play event in February 2009.
He did play in the 2008 Masters and 2008 US Open during this time, but neither event is under the umbrella of of the PGATour, and their drug testing program.
HGH can not be detected. Steroids can unless the masking techniques work.
That’s understandable, but did it include his golf exploits also?
You misspelled asshole.
I don’t know if Tiger is into drugs. I suspect a few players. But Tigers troubles will let people believe almost anything about him. I heard a couple sports announcers talk about big Tiger is compared to other golfers. He did not get bigger today. It is just easy to believe anything about Tiger now. His image has been killed.
That’s a huge point. Think about folk like Mickey Mantle - I am not a baseball fan, but I rarely hear him mentioned independent of references to his off-field lifestyle. And what do you hear more about today about Ted Williams - the Splendid Splinter - or his frozen head in a jar? For a brief moment Mike Tyson was one of the most dominating fighters ever seen - but now he is just a rapist who bit some guy’s ear off.
No matter what Tiger accomplishes on the course, and no matter how (or if) he cleans up his off-course life, he has given every fan, writer, comedian, the greenlight to append to his name the derogatory adjective of their choice to his name.
To some extent, that is a shame, because my understanding is that he has been extremely generous - and low-key - in terms of giving to worthwhile causes. For the people who benefitted from those causes, I hope he continues to be generous, and I hope the organizations feel able to accept his contributions whatever his personal issues.
Wow, Tiger Woods has now been on the cover of the NY Daily News 21 days in a row, setting a new record for the paper.
I’ve been saying it for years - the Daily News is a tabloid who likes to convince itself that it’s a real newspaper.
Tiger Woods: Charity Work & Causes - Look to the Stars Tiger does a lot, but he can afford it. But his name has been a huge draw for companies and celebrities. If his name is poisoned, his works will diminish.
The Tiger Story didn’t really break until early Friday afternoon, day after Thanksgiving. This thread didn’t start until about 2 pm on Friday.
I can’t imagine why the NYDN would have Tiger on their front page on (Black) Friday morning.
