trump's most ridiculous, stupid ideas, political or otherwise

Well, from his point of view – is there any other? – it’ll keep him out of prison four more years.

Maybe he just thought we should eat more cucumbers?

Have we mentioned clean coal yet?

Well, that was a goonie thing to do…

Hmmm, could we start a woo fad, get Fox & Friends to report on it, and get Trump to use it?
(Or claim to… I’m not sure he ever actually used hydroxychloroquine)
Remember the fad in the 60s, of baking banana peels, scraping the insides into a joint and smoking it? Turns out a radio DJ made it up, but the placebo effect got a lot of hippies really high. *

Trump, in an interview on FOX today with Harris Faulkner:

Absolutely breathtaking. If this thread is a contest, I’ll have my winnings now, thanks.

And in that moment, Harris Faulkner died a little more inside.

Again, it’s really disturbing that he feels the need to compare his presidency with previous ones. It’s always all about him, isn’t it?

“ObamaGate” :dubious: :smack:

Trying to distract from his own fuckups. Or it’s projection or both. Seems most crooks assume everyone is a crook.

I wrote this in another thread:

“Trump says Abraham Lincoln ‘did good’ for the Black community but that ‘the end result’ is ‘questionable’“

I’m actually giving Trump a pass on this one — he surely meant that racial bias and disparities were (are?) unfinished business for long after emancipation was achieved.

But the overall gist, of Trump comparing himself favorably to Lincoln, is of course ridiculous. Especially since he’s actively hurting attempts by Americans to bring us closer to remedying that unfinished business.

I’d be very happy when we can compare Trump’s last accomplishment to Lincoln’s final act: dying. I really cannot think of anyone else I’ve had to endure in my entire life who, I wished, were dead. Trump is such a disaster, only his death would be just.

Geeze, Monty, I’ve said for years I don’t want him dead but rather sitting in a prison cell, watching his gilded empire get dismantled, contemplating how he coulda kept on grifting indefinitely if he only hadn’t taken that escalator down.

I’ll smile either way.

…and to live to see the trump name rendered unto all as anathema, for all time.

Sure, but given how devoted half of the government is to being pro-crime, I think him choking on a hamberder is a much more likely outcome.

Trump is a President who has an R next to his name; that means he won’t be punished for* anything* he did. He could eat a child alive on national television and not be punished. The instant he ran for office with that letter next to his name he became above the law. Protecting the privileged position of the Right and catering to them is the function and purpose of our society and culture.

He won’t be fined and he won’t be imprisoned, he’ll just go on basking in his sycophants’ praise until he drops dead. And then we’ll all be lectured about how terrible it is to criticize the dead (but when Hillary Clinton dies the Right will openly celebrate and nobody of note will dare condemn them for it).

I upvote Der Tris’ post.

Nothing to add. But there is a pic of Notre Dame in the OP’s link:

Is that a dragon??

It goes away in April.

I told my people to limit testing.

Thanks to this idiot, not only are even more Americans gonna die, but probably the rest of the world will gradually get better while we are all stuck here sick with no one able to get in or out.

MAGA /s

The EU is already considering restricting travel from the US.

Americans are currently not allowed to go to Canada, except for essential needs.

Yep. It feels kind of scary. How is this making us “great again”? These trumpists aren’t able to think about short-term restrictions potentially producing fewer restrictions long term. Now we’re gonna be basically locked in for who knows how long and possibly not even know what’s really going on because the would-be dictator doesn’t want to support testing.

trump said AGAIN today at a speech in Wisconsin “if we didn’t test so much there wouldn’t be so many cases”.

My brain can’t process that anybody who is the freakin President of the United States can be that stupid, so I keep giving him the benefit of the doubt, thinking he must mean “we do more testing than other countries, which reveals more cases that would otherwise go undetected, making us look bad in terms of caseload”. Which in itself is a stupid and wrong thing to think or claim. But even if that’s what he means, he makes no effort to make that more clear. This is the 3rd time at least by my count he’s literally just said “if we didn’t test so much there wouldn’t be so many cases”.
