Chanel No. 5 body lotion and Red Door by Elizabeth Arden. I haven’t gone perfume shopping for so long that I don’t even know what’s out there anymore.
That is my current after shave with the old Joop in the reddish bottle.
The Body Shop’s Japanese Musk too.
Elizabeth Arden’s Bluegrass
Am 50 now, have worn it since I was 17.
Don’t know if it’s too young for me, but it just feels too late to change now.
Chanel No. 5. Ever since I tried it last year, I’ve worn nothing else. But, dang, it is expensive.
All-year-round "signature scent: Allure by Chanel
Winter only: White Camellia by St. John
Preferred expensive gift from men - Fleurissimo by Creed
VCNJ~
Givenchy’s *Organza First Light * - a little flowery when I first put it on, but by the end of the day DeHusband says I smell like pound cake. Deep Vanilla base note.
I have a bunch of expensive perfumes including my favourite, Hypnotic Poison by Dior (overly strong so I put it on a Q-tip and then apply)…but the only thing my boyfriend really likes are sweet fruity smells from The Limited lines so I’m now prone to slapping on vanilla/strawberry/apple/raspberry crap from Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Bodyworks. On the plus side…I never have to spend more than 10$ to make him happy even though I personally think I smell like a cross between a French Bordello and a walking Jolly Rancher.
I am not a big perfume wearer, but I absolutely love Beyond Paradise. My husband bought me a huge bottle, (and the bottle itself is so pretty!), and I don’t think I’ll ever use it up before it all concentrates down into pure alcohol.
I have over 60 different perfumes. (I know.) So it’s really hard to pick a favorite. But some of them are:
by Guerlain:
Vol de Nuit
Jicky
Chant d’Aromes
Parure
Shalimar
Chamade
Chanel No. 19
Bulgari Black
Bois du Portugal by Creed
Chanel No. 5. And dangit phall0106, you ain’t kiddin - it sure IS expensive! It is for that reason that I no longer have any left and have had to settle for Obsession or Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea Body Splash.
Hugo Boss Deep Red.
It’s the sexiest thing ever. No really, the night I wore this for the very first time I pulled an extremely handsome man (turned out he did not have a personality to match but still). It’s a bit much for the office, though, where I mostly wear Noa by Cacharel or the hippy dippy Karma by Lush.
I find a lot of perfumes set off my allergies, so I usually use natural solid perfumes - they come as a little cake in a soapstone jar, scented with essential oils. I prefer woodsy scents - patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense, amber - one of my favorites is a mix of sandalwood and geranium. I have a couple solid perfumes that I really like, but I’m not sure exactly what oils are in them - one is called “Krishna Musk” and the other is “Fantasia”.
One commercially sold perfume I can wear that I really like is Avon’s Timeless.
For women:
Narciso Rodriguez- for her
For men:
Helmut Lang-Cuiron
Naturally they’re what irishfella and I wear.
I’m hooked on BPAL too. My wife got me addicted to it. Current favorites are Fenris Wolf, Dracul, and Torture King. It’s amazing the different combinations of scents they’ve come up with… they’re like the Bertie Botts of scents.
I’m also very fond of Givenchy’s π, Joop, and Gautlier’s Le Male. I’ve gone through entire bottles of each of those. (Having said that, now I’m starting to wonder if I’m that guy in the elevator that’s wearing way too much cologne… I swear I’m going light!)
I don’t like Guess perfume all that much, but every time I’ve ever worn it, a man has complimented me on it. It’s a little weird.
Personally resonant favourites:
Fleur de Fleurs by Nina Ricci
Lauren by Ralph Lauren
Chanel No. 19
I don’t like Estee Lauder’s Beautiful on me, either, but it’s my general favourite on other people.
Almost forgot. Men, whoever they are, should wear Dior’s Eau Savage. If they would just do that, the world would be a much better place.
Thank you.
HEEE! So am I. I got addicted to the place a couple of months ago! I wear and burn(oil burner) all sorts of scents. I have an imp box full of them. I also like Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, Rainbowskytrading, and Ava Luxe.
My favorite scents tend to be strong, powerful scents with a nice, strong throw. Yes, I’m one of those people who can drive others nuts! BWHAH.
I like musks, florals, leather and I tend to be drawn to more “exotic” blends, so to speak. I’ll try anything though, so long as there’s little to no sage or clove. Sometimes I might make an exception, but not often.
I rotate among Fujiyama for Men, Lancôme Miracle for Men, Dolce & Gabbana Masculine, Issey Miyake Eau de Issey for Men, and some random stuff from the renowned house of Joe Boxer, depending on where I’m going and with whom. The Eau de Issey is my favorite, but I also like the Miracle a lot.
Yeah Issy Myake is currently tops for any night or daytime. Day time for me I still like CK1. I still have some Lagerfield and Calven Klein Escape but they are bit too feminine for me so I only wear them if I go out with the ladies who bought them.
If I am buying then Its Issy Myake for special friends and tommy girl for younger acquaintances
