What's For Dinner Tonight: Episode 2021 – A New Hope

Tossed salad with honey mustard dressing, Reuben sandwich, french fries, ketchup, and a glass of ice water. Later, some Reese’s Cups and a glass of cold milk.

Neither of us know how we ended up with a carton of heavy cream in the fridge, but it inspired my gf to make a pasta with cream sauce that she then added tilapia to. Pinot grigio over ice to drink.

Cresco Keystone Banana for dessert (Cresco’s cross of Skilletz and Gelato).

Baked chicken in olive oil with garlic over rice, a tossed salad with mixed greens, bacon bits, peanuts and croutons, with a glass of ice water. Later, some homemade pumpkin mousse with chocolate sauce.

Cuban beef sandwich with thin slices of marinated sirloin, onions, and romaine with garlic cilantro aioli and cajun mayo on toasted Cuban bread made with lard - take-out from a nearby place. It was stupendous. For dessert, fresh picked blackberries from my garden (thornless blackberry vines). And some pinot grigio.

Got to a hotel late , so a microwave hot and spicy chicken flavoured noodles…

I had something very simple and very tasty: Sapporo Ichiban ramen noodles with last night’s leftover sliced grilled jerk pork chop and sliced cremini mushrooms. I love these deeply flavoured medium-spicy pre-marinated jerk pork chops so I always grill extras for leftovers; they’re great cold as a snack the next day, and spicy pork is one of the best additions to ramen.

Ideally it would be adorned with chopped green onion after plating but I didn’t have any on hand. I did however try out Huy Fong chili garlic sauce for the first time. This is the same California company that makes the famous sriracha sauce in the red and green squeeze bottle, but this is much thicker and has to be spooned out of a jar. I loved it – works great with ramen, especially the way I make it, with a minimum amount of water so it’s really a noodle dish, not a soup. The chili garlic sauce ought to work well with my next order of Singapore noodles, too.

Lucky! I’m nearly passing out from envy over your sandwich description. I can’t remember the last time I had real Cuban bread.

You way outdid my noodle experience

9 more hours of road trip then I am hoping for something good at home.

Spaghetti with meat sauce and shredded Parmesan, garlic toast, and a glass of ice water. Later, Georgia pistachio bark and a glass of cold milk.

Mushroom and Swiss cheese burgers on the grill. Zucchini fries in the air fryer.

Going to make a veg and shrimp stir fry and some egg fried rice. Maybe a Stella Artois while cooking and some Cab sauv to accompany.

Ed to remove a rather unfortunate spelling error

Sounds interesting…

ETA , ah you caught it. Gave me a chuckle.

Well that was embarrassing, Veg ,vegetables.
I guess that or someone is having fun times tonight at the mollusc household .

Barbecue Turkey Burritos and fries.

Pinot Grigio

Kind of worn out this evening, so I’m just throwing together some lox and dilled honey mustard sauce on toasted French bread, with a side of coleslaw. And a pinot grigio nightcap.

Tomato Galette, with fresh garden tomatoes and herbs. I’m not overly fond of tomatoes, but this was really good. Saving the recipe for next summer!

Thick slice of ham (we knew the pig), potatoes, carrots, green beans, celery in the crockpot. Darkest Dawn Stout, an amazing stout I’ve been cellaring since a local Comic-Con.

And Keystone Banana vape cart. Oh my. Anyone had this? A cross between Cresco’s Skittelz and Gelato. Amazing. If I die tonight, we’re cool.

Share? I’m all into various gazpacho recipes especially Andalusian. Mmmmmm

Pub trivia tonight: Jerk Chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries.

It’s from America’s Test Kitchen/Cook’s Country, so I couldn’t find a link without a paywall. It’s just entitled “Fresh Tomato Galette”; maybe you’ll have better luck finding it.
