What's For Dinner Tonight: Episode 2021 – A New Hope

Ok, I’m a little jealous and more than a bit curious. Duck tortillas? Did they just have duck fat included in the dough, or were they filled with it?

Sausage rolls, fries and a green salad tonight.

Tuna sandwich and an amber ale.

Filled with duck meat, in some sort of orangey mustard sauce - I didn’t catch the name.

Daffy? Donald?

Baked flounder coated in panko crumbs and grated cheese, snap peas, biscuits and strawberries.

Ham & Swiss on marble rye, and an Elysian Dragonstooth stout (okay, 2).

Too soon, man. Too soon.

Last night: baked salmon (a bit too dry), broccoli with butter, rice pilaf and a glass of ice water. Afterwards, a slice of vanilla cake and two cups of coffee.

I had leftover salmon from Mother’s Day, so last night I made Salmon Croquettes (complete with homemade breadcrumbs) and Cilantro-Lime Riced Cauliflower.

Vodka martinis to drink.

Jamaican style jerk marinated pork chips on the grill. These are pre-marinated and vacuum packed so by the time you open them they are well and truly marinated.

These were particularly large and thick, and very smoky on the grill. One of them got a bit charred on one side but not overdone, and the slight char actually added to the taste. My Weber grill never lets me down but I just had the heat up a bit too high. With potato salad and baked beans, followed by vanilla Haagen-Dazs. Leftover pork chop for tomorrow to make several servings of ramen noodles.

Its very humid here today so im going to make a light little supper for us. Grilled chicken and cheese quesadillas and some fresh cantaloupe that I really hope is ripe and juicy.

Yesterday was a lazy damn day. So, we ate like children and had McDonald’s before I left for practice. She had little cheeseburgers and I had Mc Nuggets with sweet and sour sauce.

Don’t look at me like that.

Tonight we plan to try to recreate the serrano chicken enchiladas from Meso Maya (a local restaurant). Even if we don’t match it, I expect we’ll have satisfied, full bellies.

Seared furikake-crusted ahi with wasabi guerre blanc and Asian vegetables.

I’m looking at you like that for failing to have the much better experience of a Burger King Whopper with Cheese. Or at least Wendy’s! :grinning:

I must admit, though, that McD’s little cheeseburgers (I presume you mean the basic kid’s cheeseburger) is one of my secret guilty pleasures. Bernie, my Bernese Mountain Dog, agreed with me about that.

Q: How does a Bernese Mountain Dog eat a McD’s cheeseburger?

A: You hold it for him, and he chomps big bites out of it just like a human. If dogs had hands, credit cards, and drivers licenses, they’d be going through the McDonald’s drive-thru every single day!

Oh no, I wanted those nasty little McNuggets with sweet and sour sauce, and she wanted those nasty little cheesburgers. No substitutes would suffice. If we wanted better than that, we would have gone to Whataburger.

Last night, my sweetie and I made the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Tonight was more of the same assembled from the leftover chicken, serrano cream sacue, onions, tortillas and cheese from the night before. Sadly, there’s only enough left over for one more night of it. If we figure out how to make Meso Maya’s Tostaditas (AKA Best. Fucking. Nachos. Ever.), I may never leave the house again other than to collect more ingredients and some beverages.

Tonight was big ol’ juicy cheeseburgers with all the fixings, fresh corn on the cob and some clementines.

Ahi poke bowl, garlic shrimp, and mai tais.

I grilled some Italian Hot Sausage along with various peppers and onion slices. The peppers and onions eventually were added to some simmering tomato sauce. Then everything was thrown together.

Two Hot Dog Shoppe dogs with cheddar sauce and ketchup, a big cheddar fries with ketchup, and a glass of ice water. Mmmmmmm.

Shrimp Scampi with Angel Hair Pasta and a side salad.
