Grilled sandwich with turkey, pears, bacon, and gruyere, with a side Caesar salad.
I made (canned) corned beef and cabbage, and some cornbread muffins. Mmm mmm mmm.
Leftover Spaghetti alla Nerano (just as good as the first night), and a salad with arugula, chicken, honey-crisp apples, goat cheese, walnuts, raisins and craisins with a vinaigrette dressing.
Iced tea to drink. Well, actually Arnold Palmers, I went overboard with my lemon juice.
Caesar salad and a Thai chicken burrito with peanut dipping sauce, and a glass of ice water. Later, a scoop of pumpkin spice ice cream.
Polish kielbasa, onions (of course!) garlic … all stirred into a hash with … pasta, because I was out of potatoes and didn’t want to put on pants & go to the store.
Got up very late today, so dinner will be a post-midnight snack of Pad Thai spring rolls with a Thai chili dipping sauce.
The farm store sells quarts of various soups they make. I use them as a base for meals. Last night I started with their tortilla soup, added sweet sausage I sautéed, then added a leftover 1/4 of a habanero pepper I minced and some leftover rice.
At the table I added a dollop of plain yogurt to each bowl.
Sauvignon Blanc.
Tonight is game night in Chicago, and we’ll be ordering out. It looks like Wu’s, but that might change.
Italian beef sandwiches, made with leftover pot roast on bollilo rolls, with melted provolone cheese and chopped up giardineria. :chef’s kiss:
Tonight: leftover Chicken Tortilla soup. It was quite tart with tomatoes, so I think I’ll doctor it a bit.
Chili Size, using Wolf Brand chili and a honking ton of onions. Washed down with a La Croix Lime.
Boneless wings, parm garlic flavor. Chocolate cake for dessert.
Pineapple Upside Down cake
A small tossed salad with Italian dressing, a stale dinner roll (didn’t finish it), a baked chicken breast and miniature baked potatoes, along with a glass of ice water. For afters, a small slice of cake and some custard.
A couple of carne asada tacos from the local joint, with double beans instead of rice.
Fresh bread with brie earlier for a snack, along with some seaweed snacks.
Fried vegetarian “chicken” sandwich with hot honey butter and/or chipotle mayo.
We visited a “cheese smoker”, actually some guy’s garage where he does his hobby. We purchased a few different smoked cheeses.
Last night we made an upscale macaroni and cheese. It was freaking decadent. A side salad and some crusty bread helped complete the meal. Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA went well with the meal.
{ swoons }
A coupla peanuts, some Conn’s salt-and-pickle potato chips, four chicken tenders and BBQ sauce, with a glass of ice water.
We made pork chop katsu sandos on Saturday - the BEST pork chop sandwiches ever devised by man. I’ve eaten pretty much nothing but those since Saturday, except a peanut butter sandwich when I was pressed for time. We’ve had them before, but my sweetie spiced the chops better than she ever has before, and that’s saying something.
We left the crusts on the bread, because we’re barbarians, but that’s how it goes. I still have enough left over for one more half sandwich.
Not a picture thread, I know but these vegan pumpkin gnocchi came out so cute I wanted to share. Honestly, they were quite bland but the Brown Butter Sage and Garlic Sauce more than made up for it flavor-wise. And, of course, the carnivore in us LOVED the NY Strip.
