Chicken Tortilla soup, spiced a little on the hot side, which is the way I like it.
Damn, I have to get those red wine and shallot marinaded kabobs again! I don’t know what it is that makes the marinade so aromatic, but it was wonderful. I just wish I had taken it off the grill about two minutes sooner. I like beef medium-rare, and this was closer to medium-well. Still delicious, though, with big dollops of potato salad on the side and a couple of glasses of Divine Intervention. Very summery-feeling dinner, even though it’s cool and the leaves are falling.
Tonight was a fantastic Italian pot roast with polenta for a side.
A box of fresh cremini mushrooms is about to be sauteed in garlic butter, and will then top spaghettini al dente and marinara sauce with fresh-grated Parmesan and a few glasses of one of my favourite California cabernets. I’ve made spaghettini aglio e olio a few times recently but haven’t had it with marinara sauce and mushrooms for a while.
Air fried sweet potato fries, topped with pulled pork and barbecue sauce leftover from whenever, minced bacon (sous vide), guacamole, plain Greek yogurt, minced habaneros.
Beer
Potato skins, boneless wings. For desert-pumpkin pie.
Went to a brewery for their Halloween and they gave us four nice pumpkins to take home.
They’re decoration today, tomorrow they get roasted and made into pies.
My gf adapted the Conch & Dumplings recipe given to her by Yvette (RIP), whose restaurant, Yvette’s, is still run by her offspring. If you’re ever in St Martin, dine at Yvette’s. Excellent creole cooking, plus sometimes you get to meet some of the kids. I’ve even helped with homework.
We have a hard time getting good conch in western Pennsylvania, and Yvette stressed the importance of collecting really good conch, so we make it using scallops in lieu of conchs. Delicious!
Chicken noodle soup and Ritz crackers, with a glass of ice water. Later, some Girl Scout s’mores cookies and a glass of milk.
Lamb vindaloo with onion kulcha.
Leftover Italian pot roast, of course! Same as the last few days, and it just keeps getting better by re-heating it.
Ok, my flatulence has become very fragrant. The tentative plan has become to cook the remainder in a ragu.
I made a big Dutch oven of Cuban Black Beans, using @not_what_you_d_expect ‘s recipe. Served with Spanish Rice and Pinot Grigio.
I had a colonoscopy yesterday, and was told to eat nothing fried or spicy. However, I was STARVING and so I made a creamy, yummy, stick-to-your-ribs tuna casserole.
I have no idea what I’m making tonight - maybe some grilled chicken legs and sausage with mac and cheese. I’ll start with the veggies again tomorrow!
Hamburger, mashed potato and cheddar cheese casserole with A-1 Sauce, and a glass of ice water. Later, some Halloween leftover chocolate M&Ms with a glass of milk.
Yay. So glad to see that recipe being used. I can’t even remember when I last used it myself.
A turkey BLT sub buttered with Hellman’s mayo. Maybe some leftover spaghettini and mushrooms later.
I got some gyro meat the other day, was ok, I’ll probably get it again, but it did lead me to make too much tzatziki sauce. I’m putting that to use with some felafel tonight, along with a baby spinach and feta salad and some pita bread.
Leftover Halloween candy.
Leftover lamb vindaloo and onion kulcha.
Chicken tenders with blue cheese crumbles and spicy pepper sauce, with some ice water and two cups of coffee.
