A Picture MMP {My First MMP}

Got distracted, of course, and wandered over to the home page and found the CecilFAQ. I have to say that the answers to questions 1, 9 and 17 appear to support your theory, Mork.

GT

I need to get there. I even have some cheap red wine with a screw off top (that is how I know it is cheap!) at home waiting for me. However, I am still at work, incredibly frustrated, and feeling like throwing my tape dispenser through the window in my office. I must go home soon or I just might do it. Writing a four page brief about 46 years of academic policy and procedures is difficult. UGH!

[QUOTE=FairyChatMom]
Format? There’s a format? You mean the part where everyone just empties their brains, regardless of whether the contents come close to the OP? You mean that format?

Welcome to the lair of the Cool Kids! Feel free to share and comment at will, and don’t forget the requisite Chocolate Love Offering that you’re expected to send to me. It’s like a law, as is my burden to accept said Love Offering. I shoulder it willingly, as should you.*

[QUOTE]

Ok, so I guess I was impressed by the lack of format and the fact that people can come in here and empty their brains without being accuse of hijacking.

Cool Kids, huh? I never felt comfortable around them. I might have to rethink this MMP thing.

As for the chocolate love offering (is that trademarked? it should be), you do not want it from me. I can’t even make brownies from the “just add water mix”. They just turn to pudding; burnt pudding that tastes bad. Now if you want a killer grilled pork chop with a maple rub or a kick ass curry sauce that features diced pickles, I can rock that.

oh yeah, I almost forgot to ask…how many of the trademarked objects have been sent to you?

Work went OK, My joints only hurt a little. I went to Wally World for vittles, it was busy. I’m cooking poke chops and sweet **N.O.T.**s for dinner.

Creaky, shopping on black Friday? You are barking mad. But darn cute.

FCM, I sent you a virtual offering once. That’s more than the rest of thesr slackers.

: hands rigs a twenty : you love me long time?

Mork, great poem. sorry about the head. At least it was only a flesh wound.

MBG, run!

Welcome Troll!!!(This is the only time you will hear that phrase on The Dope.) Bring pics. And pie. And I could use a beer or 24.

MamaTigs, why is infant wear fire retardant? Did you use snowbunny as an oven mitt when she was young?

Too late - you’re now one of them. See, one of our most stringent rules is that when you post in the MMP, you become one of the Cool Kids. Your official t-shirt, ball cap, coffee mug, and secret decoder ring should arrive on your doorstep soon - the holiday may slow delivery, but just sit out there waiting… it’ll get there… No, really, it will.

MMMM - the poke chop sounds might fine there. Tho, to be fair, I can usually be bought off with a vending machine bag of M&Ms. I’m a pretty easy chocoholic.

TWENTY bucks?!? TWENTY BUCKS???!!?

You gotta be kiddin’ me. NO freaking way do I “love” anyone for TWENTY bucks. I don’t even LOVE anyone for $20.
multiply by it by ten times that and then we’ll talk… (hey, I’ve got bills to pay!)

To me, the case is closed: Cecil Adams is Santa Claus.

OK, this had me quite literally laughing out loud!

And <thinking…> I was sent some real-honest-to-goodness chocolate by a mumper, but I’m reluctant to name the name because I may have misremembered (it has been a while), and I don’t want to embarrass myself any more than absolutely necessary.

Hey,** Li-Li**, What’s the approximate ratio of Oreos to Cream Cheese? I want to try this out tomorrow.

One package oreos to one standard little block of cream cheese. They’re, I dunno, eight ounces? Or something? Mix the cookie dust and cream cheese until no white streaks are visible. Dipping the centres in chocolate is important, so you get the nice contrast between crunchy outer shell and soft, cheesecakey filling.

I think I ate too much of it today, though. I feel a little put off them. Probably a good thing. I’ve also done them with peanut butter sanwich cookies, and they’re good, but I’d use half peanut butter/half cream cheese in the filling next time.

Thanks, Li-Li! I bought both tonight at the store. And I’ve got this $75 dollar bucket of fancy chocolate formulated just for dipping sitting on the shelf at my shop. Guess what I’ll be doing tomorrow!

Oh, god, oreo truffles. I hope someone around here makes some this Christmas - I could make myself sick on those things.

I just spent $90 on e-bay. Some of it is Christmas presents, but I must admit most of it is stuff to make jewelry for me. Knowing how to string necklaces and bracelets comes in handy; I can make stuff to go with all my outfits. And I got some cool pendants.

I have to stay up a little late tonight; I work 4-10 tomorrow. I’ll probably check back in here later.

DB - did you hear about 6 of the Jacksonville Barracudas getting arrested for beating up some guy? Apparently they went to a house expecting a party, but the cops had already shut the party down. So they started throwing trash cans around and the neighbor asked them to stop and leave. They allegedly beat him up. He has a black eye, but he sure doesn’t look like he got beat up by 6 hockey players to me.

I don’t know what will happen to them; if they played here they would be unemployed.

Trollhaugen: Yeah, the best cheap red wine always comes with a screw cap, seriously. Hope you’re soon on your way home and enjoying your drinks. And man, I thought my paperwork was bad. At least yours sounds like it has a purpose!

And dogbutler: Yes, I am mad. I must be. As I said, I’ve never gone shopping on Black Friday before. I’ve done lots of other scary unpleasant things in my life, but this may top them all. I will submit a full report on Tuesday evening, as I will not have Internet access until then. My parents hate technology, so no computers at their house. They just learned to use a microwave about four years ago, so there you are. (And thank you! Always nice to hear I’m cute!)

*Hubby is making beautiful music at his computer
*We’ve got exciting, “grown-up” plans for both Thanksgiving and a Wed. night “friends’ Thanksgiving” dinner party (our first married Thanksgiving)
*There is a crew and a half of 18-20 year olds playing Mario Galaxy downstairs, with lots of happy laughter wafting up through the air vents
*I just made yummy taco salad
*This is my first ever MMP (okay, its a TNP by now, but at least I’m trying).

All of these would be great reasons to be happy, except that this post is just another lame effort to avoid what I’m supposed to be doing, i.e. finishing up my senior paper so that I can workshop it next Tuesday and turn it in Thursday. And it’s not that I don’t enojy my topic, because I do, and I like my professor and I really care about doing well… it’s just that I graduate on the 12th of December, and I’m really, really, REALLY ready to be done with school. I want to be playing Mario Galaxy… or reading a book… or posting on the SDMB (without feeling guilty about it). Anywhoodle. Just wanted to share/ vent/ procrastinate.

You’ve come to the right place, iftheresaway (too tired to come up with a nickname). If swampy weren’t at work, he would be glaring at you and telling you to get back to work, young lady. So let me do that for him. Don’t give me that look!

You’ll need to post your pics in the next MMP, Puggy. I think Taters owes us pictures too. I’m pretty sure I have a picture of my grandad holding me in his arms on my first Christmas (I was 6 weeks old), but it’s on the other computer. I’ll look for it tomorrow…

Cranberry sauce and stuffing are made. I’ll be cooking sweet potatoes in the morning and then mixing them with the orange and butter and such when I get home from work.

I’m falling asleep, so I’ll just say goodnight…

GT

TNP. I like it! And tomorrow I’ll make a WMP…Cool!

And get to work on that paper young lady–no Mario for you until you’re done.

Just finished watching Hairspray–such a sunny movie. And Link is cute. Yum.

I just spent most of the evening with my feet up watching TV, and am now trying to convince myself to put in at least one more hour working on the godawful job again since I finished up the easy one. I’d really, really like to get this (*&#$@ thing done tomorrow so I can have a more relaxing weekend. Not that I won’t have a bit of work to do, but at least it won’t be long and hard <snerk>, and it won’t take nearly as much time as the aggravating one does.

Are we bad to use guilt to get rid of a nice young woman trying to persuade us to take a free weekend out of town? It’s a place where we’d get an actual free weekend, no sales presentation or crap like that, but we just don’t want to do it. So to stop them calling us, we explained to the nice young woman that Papa Tigs is on call a lot because of his job at the military hospital and it’s hard to get away for long. She said, “Not even over a weekend?” And he said, “We get wounded troops coming in every day, weekend or not.” I added, “And even when we do try to go somewhere, he gets nonstop calls and emails.” (Which is actually true.) So she asked, “When would be a good time to check back with you?” And you may slap me upside the head with a wet noodle, but my immediate answer was, “When the war is over.” There was this looooong silence on the other end of the phone, followed by a weak, “Okay, well, thanks for your time.” Hee! Okay, it was naughty of me, but honestly, it would be nice if more people could get it through their heads that soldiers get wounded nights and weekends and holidays, too, and the hospital doesn’t shut down just so people can have a long holiday weekend or something. And Papa Tigs is treated like he’s wearing a uniform by his bosses and most of his coworkers and expected to be available at any time, and since that’s his work ethic anyway, it doesn’t cause either of us any problems.

But I still felt naughty about the phone call. For about five seconds; then I got over it.

Okay, off to do that work and then head off to dreamland at a decent hour for a change. (I say that every night, of course, and it happens, what, about one night out of ten? If that.)

I took the Wife for dinner.

And had beer.

Then more.

This nullifies the need to run from The Suz.

I now go upstairs…

I’m working my way backwards, but I believe I have collected the 2007 edition of the MMP completely. Anyone feel like double-checking missed links, or maybe some gaps?

Off to bed now. Must. Clean. More. Tomorrow. <sigh>

Wow, beebs, that’s a lot of work. If no one else gets to it, I’ll try to check stuff on the weekend…

Why am I still so awake???

GT

A recent pic of me. I still haven’t found the photo album. I haven’t seen it in a while, so it could be anywhere.

Just one more OCD group, and hopefully on to graduate group afterwards (where we’ll start making changes). Have I mentioned how exceedingly unpleasant this all is? The alternative is worse, though, which is why I’m doing it. I’m tired of living life this way.

bbs2k, that’s awesome, and a little scary.
