Did you all change all of your clocks in the MMP?

Wow. The coordinator must have been really offensive for that to happen!

Was that U of M or MSU?

DH’s flu shot wound up being more of a nuisance than it should have been, but has been accomplished. Walgreen’s is NOT recommended if there’s even a faint chance of paying out-of-pocket. $67? Really? After another couple of no-gos (Kaiser dedicated facility was closed, Costco was so crazy busy we didn’t even bother parking and going in, Walmart came through for about $37.

Also got the donations and groceries earlier, without DH’s participation. We did have lunch together (he was in the mood for Taco Bell tacos and Mexican Pizza, neither of which travels well enough to get delivered). The litterbox has been dumped, washed, and refilled, with Buddy apparently christening the fresh litter as I type, and DH is addressing running the cleaning cycle on the printer, while also replacing the laces on his work boots. No, we don’t seem to be doing well at sloth today.

Traffic was ghastly, including aggressively stupid antics by at least one other “driver”.

{{{metal mouse}}} I hope your crud is over soon.

Mooooom, count me as another who would be checking into hospice for your FIL. There are a lot of things that they can do, not just for him, but for your MIL and the rest of you.

Sunday chores done, supper made and et (sausage stuffed shells with braised cabbage, carrots and onions). I’ll play around in the studio a bit more before getting ready for bed.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated (felt good to just plop down in a pew and be a rank and file congregant), got back to da cave, had a sammich N.O.L., achieved nappage, achieved day drinkin’, achieved more sloth, and then et a sammich sup. Chillage and sloth now continues. It’s been chilly here as well. Right now the temp is only 55 Amurrkin. BRRR! Oh, the biiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow.

MetalMouse hope you feel better soonest.

Flyboy I remember meetin’ Scotticher, Taters, and you many moons ago in Seattle.

Yanker enjoy the trip. I do my fishin’ at the Pubix Sto’ and the seafood market.

Die here’s hopin’ your dad’s case of the plague is a mild one.

Oopsie glad you had a good time at your N.O.L. I am not a huge fan of gingerbread myself although I will eat it.

Suze you made me snort. Not that makin’ me do that is a hard thing bein’ as I have the sense of humor of a twelve year old boy.

Sunny you mean Beamer has to put his own dishes into the dishwasher and his own soda cans into the recycle! That’s it. I’m callin’ CPS!

U of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Those videos are always so calming and restful, thank you!

Oh. Them.

Please do not eat the bowls…unless they’re made of cornbread.

I cleaned.
I took Gordie out.
I napped.
I took Gordie out.
I changed the litter in the box.
I took Gordie out.
I made lunch.
I took Gordie out.
Gordie has decided that the front closet is a new world á la Narnia, and is living in there now.

The late Maggie Wonderbeagle would gnaw on her bowl if she was still hungry after feeding.

Yes.

I am available for spooning.

Hope Dad feel better,Dicey.

Feel better MetlaMouse.

It is SO entertaining to be lacing new sneakers with feline assistance, especially since DH had also had to deal with shoelace issues and gave Buddy a defective lace as a toy, thus convincing him that shoelaces in general are the most excellent kitty toys EVER.

Did get that item off the to-do list, where I’d been procrastinating it for weeks. Maybe five minutes work time per shoe (two pairs needed attention) to remove the factory lace (for some reason, Reebok insists in supplying laces that do NOT like to stay tied) and install the elastic no-tie lace I wanted in there. Tedious and boring task, which is probably why I procrastinated.

As achy as I am, taking out the garbage can pend until tomorrow, nothing’s overflowing or smelly.

Resisting urge to find recipe for crock pot bread bowls.

I bought my first crock pot back when they were like Boo’s old one. It was heavy and hard to clean and just a total PITA so it disappeared the next time I moved and I started ignoring crock pot recipes.

When I was 30 something, I met and married hubs and thought I would try another crock pot so we could have hot food when we got home from work. The difference in recipes during those 10 years was really amazing. You really can pretty much do about everything in a crock pot that you can do with your stove, it just takes longer.

If you get one with a timer, or put a timer on one, waking up to the smell of baking cinnamon rolls is just delightful.

Plus, and this is a big plus for desert dwellers…crock pot baking doesn’t heat up the house like using the oven does.

Before hubs, I had a Mr. Coffee that I only used for cooking food, steamed rice, fish and broccoli was one of my favorite go-to meals. You can’t make a meal for two with one Mr. Coffee, hence the crock pot.

Worried…cats often find a new hidey hole when they are sick.

OTOP, GG got lost in the hobby room closet. It has sliding doors and he moved from the front of one door to the closed one and couldn’t figure out how to get back out. We have language now. I can keep track of what he is doing and where just by listening to his constant commentary.

Absolutely.

So, hubs started fixing dinner and GG just came flying in to hide under the bed. It must be salmon night, LOL! I used to enjoy eating leftover salmon with scrambled eggs for breakfast but now I don’t leftover salmon anymore.

We have a long, stretchy shoelace tied to a doorknob. GG agrees that shoelaces are wonderful!

I don’t own a coffee maker, but have met them (including when I worked nights in a 7-11). I have no idea how one would cook with it (other than “add hot water” items).

Evening all. My thanks to all that wished me good health, I do feel…ok…not great, there is still something in me, but the sore throat is alleviated and my stock of Ny-Quil and Vicks Cough Drops are good through Oct 2024 and May 2025 respectively, so we’ll see if I can outlast this bunch. Did go out to eat at Longhorn to sample their Chopped Steak dinner (I am dropping Cracker Barrel from my rotation because their Chopped Steak just isn’t that good. Enjoyed dinner alright but will try Logan’s and Texas Roadhouse for comparison purposes. Then body told me that all the non-sleep from last night needed catching up so I ended up sleeping for 3 hours this afternoon, we’ll see if that messes up the night schedule. Still managed to solve my Sudoku’s, Jumbles and Crossword in the time I was awake.

Have real all but absorbed little. Don’t care for cornbread but will eat it if offered. Don’t own a crock pot, but enjoying reading all the adventures you all are having with it.

BBBoo, hope the coach is OK. I don’t have to worry about getting run into by 9 year old soccer players, but do absorb 1-2 hits from kids kicking it to my (formal dances) each year. You think I’d buy a cup or something…

JtC, hope things settle down out in your part of the world.

suzie, I agree that is a great interior feature; but where’s the ladder fr the top shelves?

OK, that’s about all for tonight. Take care all and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

Oh, there’s a ladder.

Warning: That crock pot cornbread recipe contains sugar. :scream:
On the other hand, I like my cornbread moist/soft.
(and I don’t care if it has sugar in it or not)

Corn chowder for dinner tonight.

It’s 42f here right now (~3:30pm) and our lows overnight are upper 20s.

Packers pull it off, n part because Mike McCarthy is gonna Mike McCarthy. Thank you Mason Crosby. :cheese: :football:

You forget, , Gordie is not the brightest candle in the Menorah. Occasionally his brain cell BSODs, and he convinces himself that the closet that I open literally every day in front of him is a strange new world that he must explore, and nap in. And somedays when I open the front door to take him out, and it’s raining, he gives me the look that says “No, not this one. Open the door to Dry World”

:open_mouth:
: borrows swampy’s fainting couch and pearls :

Buddy’s been doing something similar about cold. I open a door, it’s too cold for him to venture forth, he goes to the other door to try again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Reminds me of “The Door Into Summer”.

It is a steamer with a really small cage. Put the rice in the pot, start the cycle to allow the boiling water to fill the pot. Allow to steep on the hot plate for 20 minutes or so. Pull the cage out and line with a couple of disposable filters, then arrange veggies on one side and the fish on the other. Put the cage in and give it about 20 minutes to steam.

You have to do this with a Mr. Coffee sort of device, I don’t think I could figure out a way to do it with our Keurig.

I’m going to keep worrying until we are sure you have dodged the crud. Do keep us updated.

Does your Cracker Barrel have the cheesecake stuffed pancakes? I see them advertised and get the munchies, but ours doesn’t have them. They don’t have the no meat sausages either.

92 plus something percent of the votes have been counted. I am going to be SO flipping happy when this is over.

The shooting out here was neighbor against neighbor, so while that was horrible, it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Both people involved survived the experience which was good. The one who shot the other one with a shotgun is in deep shit and the one who got shot is still in the hospital but has a very good prognosis.

EEEEKKK!!!

I have never tried that recipe, I grabbed it because it gave the cooking times for any cornbread recipe. Same with all the other crockpot recipes I’ve posted, I grabbed them for the cooking times.

Except for the cinnamon roll recipe, that is one that I have used so often I have it printed out and in my stolen recipe binder.

LOLOLOL!!!

I do happen to know that Doors to Nowhere or Anywhere do exist, we constructed one ourselves

GG says hello

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. The weather widget on my computer says it’s 54 outside. And sunny. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
