Lost 4.13/14 "There's no Place Like Home" (Season finale)

Thread rules:

OK, this is it for season 4. It’s a two hour (two-part) episode tonight, so don’t forget that it starts an hour early (9PM on the coasts). We don’t know exactly how the Oceanic 6 were rescued, but we’re getting close. Locke and Benjamin are going to try and “move the Island”, whatever that entails. My guess is that’s how the season will end, and we’ll be left to pick up the pieces next season.

From the on-screen guide for tonight’s episode:

** “There’s No Place Like Home. Parts 2 and 3” **:As the 4th season comes to a close, the face-off continues between the survivors and the freighter people, and the Oceanic 66 6 find themselves ever closer to rescue.

Here are some interesting external links:

The Lost Report: A very well written summary of the most current episode often containing interesting insights. I don’t think you’ll find spoilers.

The Tail Section: Excellent site for still frame photos of key scenes, along with some good analysis. But… beware of spoilers!

Sledgeweb’s Lost… Stuff: Pretty good site, but again beware of spoilers. I use it mainly for the Timeline section, which is an incredibly detailed breakdown of “how long since…?” for almost anything you can think of (pre- and post-plane crash).

Door Map from Episode 2.17. A nicely cleaned up version of the diagram Locke saw while pinned under the lockdown doors. No spoilers.

Lostpedia: The wikipedia of Lost information. Quite a comprehensive site, but beware of spoilers!

ThEmIsFiTiShErE: The Misfit offers his whacky commentary on “Lost”. Is he a nut-case or a clever insider? Careful, though, possible spoilers.

What a horrible spoiler-free capsule, JohnMace’s on-screen guide!!

So, what, the new season will begin in January?

My wife will be SO MAD if they kill Jin.

Well, if you want some spoilers, this was in my local paper today:

We learn more about why some of the survivors were left behind. That seems to imply pretty strongly that the non-Oceanic 6 are not dead. Or at least some of them aren’t.

Not a huge spoiler, but something to chew on.

I’m hoping that giant helicopter blades pop up from various points on the island and slowly lift it out of the ocean. And that season 5 has Ben and Locke flying the island all over the place, Final Fantasy style.

But that’s just me.

Work will move slowly in anticipation for tonight. I want to just leave now and sit in front of the TV and wait for it.

I’m glad they’re doing 2 eps in a row.

I signed up a few weeks ago for a charity event tonight, so I’ll have to wait for tomorrow. I can’t see myself telling folks that I can’t do the charity thing because of “Lost”…

Don’t tell them it’s because of the show. Just say you can’t make it, and if anyone asks why, say “It’s…complicated.”

Well, I know exactly where I’ll be spending two hours tonight. It’s good to have a purpose-driven life, no?

I’m so stoked about watching tonight…but fearful: can it possibly live up to expectations? I know they have to kill off some people but I don’t want to lose Sawyer!! or Desmond!!! or Daniel or Miles, or Rose and Bernard, or Alpert, or Juliet, or Jin…
and I think Walt needs to reappear on the island, after his father finally gets offed, so he can reunite with Vincent, ya know.

Or you can just con them.

It’s going to be a looong day.

Or I could just say that “when” is, ahhhh, relative?

Gah! chews on nails, stares at clock

I am most intrigued as to how they are going to move the island. Will giant helicopter blades fly it around like Trion said or will it just insta-teleport or will it go through a wormhole ala Stargate or will it simply just start floating off in some direction?

Tonight should be a good night.

I don’t know if I’m ready for my post finale blues.
I just know it’s going to be good leaving me wanting more and then the reality will hit me.
seven… month… wait.

Useless Charlotte has got to go.

Did anyone watch the extended press conference that they just showed? I have already seen this episode (“No Place Like Home Pt. 1”) but I had heard that the press conference would be a little more detailed than what was originally aired.

It was kind of interesting,
Boone, Libby, and Charlie were revealed to be the other people who made it off the boat, but did not survive the entire time. I forget what they said happened to Libby, but Boone’s and Charlie’s death kind of mirrored what actually happened: Boone died of traumatic injuries, and Charlie drowned shortly before they actually got off the island.

Also, Sayid was asked if he’d return to Iraq: “There’s nothing left for me in Iraq,” he said.

I think there was something else, too, but I don’t remember.
Jeremy Bentham?

who’s Jeremy Bentham?
