Best UK #1 single retrospective: 1956

The year is now 1956. We’ve caught up to where the US charts begin, and to the beginning of the rock & roll era - which, judging from the results of the previous poll, is what the people want to see. There are 12 songs that topped the charts in Britain this year (excluding carry-over “Rock Around the Clock”, which is excluded from this poll since it handily won the last one.)

What’s your favorite?

#1s vs. the Rest

Wow. What a lot of crap to choose from!

I gotta pass.

Not familiar to these songs mostly, but gave my vote to Dean Martin. By the way please don’t stop posting these polls, SMAPTI.

I guess Rock around the clock should count, after al it was the first number one of 1956

How do you have the patience to do all those nested quote and link tags?

I’m hoping Smapti has it saved in Notepad or similar, and just pastes the previous one in and adds the new one

Wordpad, actually.
