Lost love may be a “very common regret,” but going about rekindling it in this way doesn’t typically signify anything more than failure. I also think you are the one doing the projection here. If someone else believes pursuing this course of action, then you’ll be validated into following the same path.
But back to the OP. Just let it go. If there’s a female from your class interested in you, she’ll initiate. When you’re no longer spring chickens, time is of the essence and I doubt that any woman lamenting about missed chances with you wouldn’t hesitate to get in touch once the opportunity presented itself.

Again, I disagree. ETV doesn’t come across as pathetic in this instance. Considering the fact that he’s put his emotions and reputation on the line here, I’d call it brave.
BTW, this isn’t the woman I wanted to bring to my sister’s wedding. Thanks all, I avoided this thread becasue I worried the pile on would be worse than its been.
I was going to ask; why did you start this thread, if it wasn’t to get a reaction from everyone just like you get every other time you post these threads? Why start a thread that’s basically: “I suck.” ? What sort of meaningful feedback did you hope to get?

Ok, I can accept your first point but not the second.
The answer is simple: tell him he’s not. He may be wrong or confused in this particular instance, but pathetic is not a word I would choose to characterize the person.
With that being said, I can see MOL did insult the actions and not so much the person. So, in a way, I am also wrong here. I still disagree with her choice of words and the callous delivery.
