I think this was definitely the strongest episode of the season. The only non-Jack subplot was with terror family, and that involved mom CHOPPING OFF HER OWN DAUGHTER’S FINGER!

All the Jack-breaking-into-the-embassy stuff was quite well done, and I’m definitely growing to appreciate Kate as a character. Although President Heller not believing Jack was a bummer. Didn’t Jack save your life like, three times, you ungrateful jerk?

Yeah, as soon as Naveed said that he wouldn’t be piloting the drones, no matter what Margot does to him," I immediately thought, “Holy crap, she’s going to torture her own daughter in front of him!” That was pretty intense.

“You just shot two Marines.”
“I just grazed them”
“How do you know that?”
“I pulled the trigger”

I want to have Jack Bauer’s babies.

I hate how on tv helping terrorists kill thousands of innocents is wrong - until they threaten someone you care about. Seriously? You’re going to help with a drone strike on a school or something to spare one person? Who, btw, demonstrated that she was okay with you being tortured into doing something against your principles, because that was the likely outcome of her telling her mother. The tables being turned doesn’t change that.

It’s possible that he’s just buying time—along with his gf’s digits—for a more opportune moment to FUBAR the operation, allow the daughter to kill the mother and make their escape.

If he was willing to die/be tortured rather than operate the drones, the solution is simple: suicide. As he seems to be the only drone operator they have, the op is FUBARed and lives are saved, and once he’s dead there’s no reason to keep torturing Stumpy. It would also fit with 24’s recent “Middle Easterners are a noble, self-sacrificing people that don’t endorse terrorism” policy, highlighted this season by having Naveed, the only member of the cell from the Middle East, be the only character with misgivings.

What will instead happen is next week they’ll make the first drone strike and there will be cries to unleash the Bauer, who was right all along. Jack’s only ever taken into custody so he can be on hand for these things. Then Naveed will die to further motivate the daughter to rebel and we’ll discover that though they tortured her to force her husband to run the drones, Nabila in Accounting can run them just fine once he’s gone - they just didn’t want to pay her the overtime if they didn’t have to.

Hey epbrown01, spoiler alert that shit.

Oh, I called it long before that.

This season has been entirely predictable, but still fun! The only thing I’m having trouble with is Jack lore. I need to go back and figure out the relationships between the various people held over from earlier seasons. Definitely love The Chloe with the Dragon Tattoo. Julien Assange is OK, but not creepy enough.
